Mark Vader Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Very sad to hear. I really think that she should have won the Oscar for supporting actress for "Tootsie" instead of Jessica Lange. RIP 2 1 Quote

Augie Posted October 29 Posted October 29 RIP I never had a chance to tell her about our long standing love affair. 1 Quote
RichStadiumGuy Posted October 29 Posted October 29 I had no idea she was that old... I thought she was around my age in her early 70's. I always had a soft spot for those "ditzy blonde" acts and her & Goldie were my two all-time favorites by a long shot! 1 Quote

Evidently even if got go for a series she would not sign up for it. For the Monkees movie Head, Jack Nicholson, who wrote the script, chose Garr as a woman who gets a snake bite and begs, "Quick, suck it before the venom reaches my heart!" This would become Garr's first-ver onscreen line. Quote

RIP That year, 1983, Lange was nominated for both best supporting actress (Tootsie) and best actress (Francis). I think voters gave her the nod for supporting actress, knowing Meryl Streep would likely win best actress for Sophie's Choice. Quote
