bills742 Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Not as bad as his stats according to Orlovsky. Some of these throws are great. 1 Quote

He probably shouldn't have done it, but it's going to get waaaaaayyyyyyy more attention than it deserves. I've watched the NFL for 6 decades. I have never seen a QB tap out. Then you see the reaction by his teammates... the fans... It sure got my attention. I was shocked actually. 11 hours ago, Captain Hindsight said: I can say with almost 100% certainty, that nfl coaches dont give a ***** what a former punter has to say Pat McAfee was drafted by the Colts. He spent his entire NFL career playing for them. He was All-Pro and a multi-Pro Bowler with them. He has built a broadcasting empire that is based in Indianapolis. He's friends with the owner of the Colts. 11 hours ago, Alphadawg7 said: Richardson can't hit the broadside of a barn, so no surprise. Makes this matchup more legit for us though. Still expect a win, but with Richardson it was likely a blow out as our D would have chewed him up. Flacco can at least get the ball out and get it to his guys, so makes the Colts a bit more dangerous as they still have some good weapons there. So I am going from expecting a 3+ score blow out to just your normal multiple score win of 10+ points. The Colts players are going to be THRILLED to have Flacco under center. He is a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Last year he signed with the Browns in late November and won them 4 of their last 5 games to get them into the playoffs. He won the Comeback Player of the Year award. He became the first player in NFL history to have 250 passing yards and multiple passing touchdowns in each of his first five games with a team... even though he had signed with them less than 2 weeks earlier. This year with the Colts he's 1-1 and has thrown for 716 yards and 7 TDs vs 1 INT. Flacco will get them in the right protections, will know where to go with the ball, and make good throws. The Colts will believe they have a chance of winning every game with him at QB. His impact will be similar to what you saw with Jameis Winston when the 7.5 point underdog Browns beat the Ravens. 11 hours ago, Miyagi-Do Karate said: Flacco though isn’t out there getting fooled. If he is throwing picks, it’s because he is aggressively moving the ball downfield. I also think some of his down games have been when he hasn’t had a running game. I think JT was out for a few of his starts this year. I just think the narrative of him being an old statue who will get sacked and turn the ball over is not accurate. He brings a ton more juice to that offense. Now you suddenly have to worry about Pittman, Downs, and Mitchell, in addition to the usual worry about JT in the run game. 10 hours ago, Saxum said: Pittman, Downs, and Mitchell will be hyped up about having chance to make plays. Absolutely. This QB change turned the Bills-Colts from an easy win into a tough contest. 7 hours ago, papazoid said: interesting that rb's and wr's take themselves out all the time to catch their breath and no one bats an eye Do you ever remember a QB deciding he was too tired to play the next down? He could have called a time out or called for a running play. Playing QB is physically, mentally, and symbolically different than playing any position in sports. 1 Quote
ganesh Posted October 30 Posted October 30 The Bills were gashed by Taylor for 5 TDs the last time they played the Colts...The Bills will have to take care of business to continue their momentum...But first the unfinished business with Miami. Quote

How does that thought even enter his mind? 9 hours ago, papazoid said: interesting that rb's and wr's take themselves out all the time to catch their breath and no one bats an eye Yeah, after they run three go routes in a row, or crash their body through an NFL defensive line a bunch of times or break a long run. It isn't the same. What he did was nowhere near as physically taxing as what skill position players do before rotating out. And they do it because the position demands running full speed all the time, which QB does not. Edited October 30 by MJS 1 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted October 30 Posted October 30 This was inevitable given his play, and then giving up last week in the game. That’s reprehensible. 1 Quote

Either there is a conditioning issue or a desire issue, either way it's an extremely bad optic as the face of a franchise. 1 Quote
CSBill Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I'm still trying to figure out how and why Richardson benched Flacco. This thread has not given me any answers. Quote

McNabb was gassed in a Super Bowl, only he didn't pull himself out of the game. He just let a ton of time roll off the clock. I have to think a lot has to do with not breathing properly. Sometimes we hold our breath when performing tasks and don't realize it. 15 hours ago, davefan66 said: Taking himself off the field was not a smart move for the dude. A professional athlete, a starting QB no less, pulling themselves out of game for being winded... I have to believe it was necessary. It was his honesty that was the mistake. He should have said he was feeling light headed. Quote

Others may have been “injured” for a play or simply kept going. I just feel being paid that much, gut it out. 1 Quote
Sweats Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Richardson is purely a college QB.......you see it all the time in college ball where the QB excels in the college system and completely fizzles out in the NFL transition. Rosen, Leaf, Claussen, Mallet, Carmazzi, Nagle, Leinart, Quinn, George, Losman, Mcquire, Ware, Klingler, Mirer, Shuler, blah, blah, blah........this list could seriously go on forever. Standouts in college and nothing special in the NFL. Quote

Yet have a feeling he won't as as bad as Josh was his first two seasons, he did show a little bit more than Richardson has. Josh wasn't bad his 1st two seasons-stop looking at stats & go back & watch the video. In his 1st season he had just about the worst O-line in team history, and his receivers weren't much better, yet he willed the team to a .500 record in games he started & finished (I still blame Peterman for losing the Houston game). As a rookie he made Robert Foster look like a legitimate NFL receiver, something no other QB has ever done. In his 2nd year, he led the team into the playoffs. Yes, he had some problems on deep balls, but to say he was bad his 2nd season is just absurd. 2 Quote

I watched the games live man, Josh forced a lot more in his first few years and he didn't always take the easy throws/checkdowns. Listen I wasn't an Allen fan predraft as never thought he'd be much as worried he be a guy that only rely on his natural gifts. Yet he's proven me wrong and love that he's a top 3 NFL QB as thought the best he be is top 10-15 after his first two seasons but in season 3 he really changed and became a more complete passer. eball Posted October 30 Posted October 30 And yet another “next Josh Allen” joins the trash pile. He can say hello to Trey Lance. Quote

Just because he wasn't a top 3 QB in 2019 didn't make him bad. Here's a pretty honest short assessment of him for the 2019 season: 18 Josh Allen Buffalo Bills · QB Individual Rank: Bhanpuri: 18 | Blair: 19 | Filice: 17 | Parr: 18 2019 regular season stats: 16 games | 58.8 pct | 3,089 pass yds | 6.7 ypa | 20 pass TD | 9 INT | 510 rush yds | 9 rush TD | 4 fumbles lost Filice: Still far from a finished product, the cannon-armed, fleet-footed 23-year-old showed substantial improvement in Year 2. And he continued to flash a clutch gene, tying for the league lead in fourth-quarter comebacks (4) and game-winning drives (5). https://www.nfl.com/news/qb-index-ranking-every-quarterback-to-start-a-game-in-2019-0ap3000001101720 Quote
