Don't Knox it Till U Try It !!

I'm so glad to see that they are starting at least in a small way to incorporate Knox into the offense a bit more ! Prior to the last couple of games it's almost like he wasn't even there & knowing what he has done for the team when he was completely healthy prior to Kincaid coming here he is just 1 more weapon to worry about .

 

I hope Brady continues to give him a hand full of plays to keep him relevant in the scheme & i hope they keep him here for his career because one thing i would hate is to see him go to let's say the Titan's and them use him to possibly put a hurting on us at some point or time in the future . 

 

Knox is a Bills type of player and he will do what ever needs doing weather it is blocking or what ever else is asked of him but i'm glad to see him making some plays for the team again and i feel he probably is too .

Cover 1 breakdown shows how he important he was for mid zone runs on the back side.  I think this was also impactful on the shakir crosser that Josh hit for a big gain (breakdown at 19:00).  Knox's defender has to respect the run as he gives a chip and in combination with the condensed formation results in Shakir's defender getting hung up in traffic.

I think he can be very useful when as a counter to always using Shakir through the middle and exposing him to hits.

 

Instead of simply putting Shakir in the slot have him as flanker with Kincaid on the slot on the other side to Coleman/Cooper wide.

Shakir can read the coverage and either split seam running down field or sit in the soft coverage depending on Kincaid on the other side which if zone will draw the seam route or deep crossing route over Kincaid. Cooper/Coleman on the outside pulls leverage outside the hash. On the backside which would be the strong side you have Knox running an out pattern to the flat pulling the linebacker with him.

 

Allen in the backfield has the option to dump off, handoff to the RB or keep it and run with a cleaned alley or throw it. The issue is a back shoulder throw to the opposite sideline is tough.

I am probably the worst offender for watching Knox offensive plays, but neglect to watch any of his blocking at the LOS, which skews my image of how we actually incorporate him into plays.

 

In other words, if i don't see him making big splash plays, i just assume that he isn't doing anything or isn't being used properly, not even considering that he might actually be making a blocking play.
