Yea, it was a good run, but we’re done with this now.

With money I can't touch!  What don't you get?  You do know they penalize you if you touch that shlt before your 59 1/2 right?  What a mess.

Irv, sounds like you've done well. Congrats. (Didn't you say you're an accountant?)

Even if you can't touch that 401k money it's not like you don't have assets.

Your take on all of this is sadly representative of a lot of people. The old "I'm doing just fine, but what about the rest of America?" When we ask the rest of America, they say the same thing by substantial majorities: "I'm good, but the economy overall sucks."

Why is credit card debt and delinquencys at an all time high if the economy is great?

Because people spend beyond their means?

Looking forward to hearing from those prone to hysteria and pearl clutching. Surely they are going to label John Stewart a racist over this. His failure to condemn racist jokes is unacceptable.

Again, you just don't get humor.

Stewart was setting up the joke about Kamala inviting Beyonce and then Beyonce not even performing.

I really need to keep working on this with you.

maybe you should listen to the whole clip.  "perhaps ...roasting a key demographic not the best political strategy".  I don't find Jon Stewarts sense of humor appealing either.

Stewart's not my guy either, but his extended bit on Biden's debate performance was perfect. And I think it had a big impact on convincing the Dem power brokers to put the squeeze on Joe.

No.  You're a dope that paid taxes on that when I didn't.  Stupid.

I have both.  You apparently don’t.  I also have access to money.  You apparently don’t.  Stop whining and work harder and maybe you won’t have these issues.

Maybe I did.

Has someone declared the PR “joke” a stroke of brilliance? Rhetorical question.

Stewart is a darling of liberals. In this instance he is suggesting the hysteria might be just a bit much. Has nothing to do with what you think about his sense of humor.

Do you think the hysteria shown by your like-minded friends on this board to be a bit much or are they right over the target?

Are you suggesting that Stewart is in fact offended by the whole affair? All he was doing by rolling his rhetorical eyes at the redhawks and Tiberius’ of the world was setting up a Kamala joke?

What’s the source for the OP?

I’ll wait.  And meanwhile…..

Whatever the source is I bet it's better than Leading Report.

Leading Report has promoted misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, climate change denial and false claims of electoral fraud in the U.S., including the "ballot mule" conspiracy theory.[3] It has also promoted the false claim that hydroxychloroquine is effective against COVID-19.  The misinformation tracker NewsGuard gave Leading Report a score of 0/100, stating that it "severely violates basic journalistic standards".

Even if it's wrong can he afford to lose any voters in Pen?  It's just a stupid unforced error.  Having a guy known for roasts do his thing is moronic.  Which lines up because your guy is unbelievably stupid.  I like the joke too!

You can cite whatever Puerto Ricans you want endorsing Trump.  Bad Bunny has more followers and sway (sadly).

you mean after maxing out your 401k, you don't hide the rest under your mattress?

Seriously.  That’s where pIrv seems to be.  No brokerage, no savings, no checking, no rainy day fund, but lots of whining.

Jon Stewart is a comedian.

Comedians have a kind of code (other than some of the recent lesbian feminist ones): they don't take offense at each others' material. I'm sure he wasn't offended by this Kill Tony guy. He may have been offended by the weakness of his material, but not at the content.

I vaguely remember a time when a political event would not invite a comedian to do racial insult comedy. Or where a political convention wouldn't invite an Only Fans "performer" to speak. Maybe the context matters? Maybe what people say on a football fan forum in a tiny corner of the internet is not what they should say in a public appearance supporting a candidate for the most important office in the world?

Just a thought.

I'd suggest this book to him:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Millionaire_Next_Door.  To most of us, the path to wealth is living below your means.

You had me with some common sense until the end when you broke out “the most important office in the world”. You have been more than content to lie to yourself about the capacity of the person that’s been holding this office and now you are drawing a line at lousy off-color jokes? You, of “first slut” fame? That’s something!
