He didn't ruin Jones at all he has always been bad. Allen made Daboll. He was a bad OC before and a bad OC after. Being with Allen and Saban made him a hotter commodity than he should have been. Schoen will be back in our Front office next year and Daboll will be an OC or back in the college game imo.

e.g., What would Pittsburgh’s record be with DJ as their starter? Probably 6-2. Because Tomlin is the type of coach that minimizes a player’s weaknesses and brings out what he does well.

He’s definitely not a top tier QB (although he’s paid like one) but this kind of performance week after week is indicative of horrible coaching.

Wow, blatant OPI on the Squeelers, no call.  He just grabbed the Giants DB and threw him aside.

The refereeing all night has been biased and flat out terrible.

Don’t think DJ is a world beater, but he can be coached up. He can be serviceable. He’s gotten worse. Coach deserves some blame.

I think this is who he’s always been.

People reference his rookie stats. That was apparently his best season to many of his defenders.

He played 13 games, had 24 tds.

13 of those came in 3 games against bottom feeders in Washington and Detroit who had 6 wins combined then the New York Jets who, well somehow managed to win 7 games amazingly lol

Im not saying Daniel Jones is trash but he isn’t good.

Daboll is at least 50% to blame for the failings of that team but the front office isn’t exactly giving him anything outside of Nabers.

That contract was ridiculous to give a guy who showed barely anything from the most important position. Not even remotely anything to warrant half of that contract. They decline giving Saquon a contract when he was wanting to stay there (LOL), only to let him walk and have him go to a division rival and run all over you for records.

That whole regime and Daniel Jones are to blame, at least to me.

I think their strategy is to commit as many penalties as they can, until the refs just get tired and stop calling them

I'm old enough to remember when most fans and analysts said Tomlin made a mistake putting Wilson in for Fields. No question Wilson is running the offense better.

I don't expect Pittsburgh to make any real noise in the playoffs, but hopefully they at least give Baltimore a real run for the division title.

could very well be PIT @ BUF on Wild Card Weekend for the 2nd season in a row.

Agree.

Gmen also playing into Russ's strength, which is a very good deep ball.  I'd never blitz the house against him.  Giants have been burned multiple times now.

Same situation cost us last year vs Denver.

Russ doesn't make many mistakes either, which will keep them in alot of games, given their defense is still very strong.

I'd much prefer scenario where Pittsburgh wins the north and ends up the 4 and Baltimore is the 5 or 6 seed and them playing the Texans in round 1 and KC in round 2. Obviously a ton of football to play but that would be a dream scenario for the Bills.

Russ is back

For context, Tomlin manages to stay above 500 with guys like Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Trubisky. He knows how to be competitive without top tier QBs. I am not buying into the Russel Wilson hype. It’s about Tomlin.
