Happy 65th to our Buffalo Bills

I was 11 in 1959.  Oldest of 6 kids.  We had just moved to a new house and a new town.  I had followed Jim Brown and Cleveland because my uncle had been at Syracuse with him.  Remember early trips with church groups to the Rockpile with dollar seats in the end zone.  Been a faithful Bills fan ever since. BTW I think Mack Yoho was the Bills Kicker, not returner.

Thank you!  I was 4 years old on opening day 1960.  Don't have much memory of going to that game, but I will always remember the '64 championship and The Hit Heard Round The World!

Went to  my first game in Sept/ 60 , was 8.. My father knew lots of ushers , and we always got good seats between the 20's .been a way of life for me ever since , along with my own family..Got married  on a Friday in  SEPT 1977 , honeymoon was planned for CALIF .. but worked in the  Bills /Broncos game in Denver the Sunday after the wedding.. Team was in one of the many "dry" spells , but was a great time..

First game Sep22, 1963.

My uncle took me. I wasn't really interested, but I went.

Really young.

I still remember the smell of those Sahlens hot dogs.

Great atmosphere.

 

We sat behind Kansas City wide receiver Chris Burford's parents.

Game ended in a tie, but I was hooked.

 

Been a fan ever since, as are our kids, who were born and raised for their first years in San Francisco during their heyday, but are just as die hard for the Bills as I am.

We never call them the Bills.

We call them "the beloved."

They still join me on Sundays when able for good food and the game.

 

They'll be here this Sunday for the Dolphins.

The Bills have provided massive disappointment at times, but their contribution to the the closeness of family is immeasurable.

I came into the world five months after the Bills did. While I went to a few games at War Memorial, my first solid/specific memory is listening (on a vaccum tube radio that took quite a while to warm up) to the Bills playing the Chiefs (January 1, 1967) in the AFL championship game for the right to go to the first Super Bowl. While the Bills got blown out (in Buffalo), settting the tone, the hook was set deep.

I was 4 years old and went to my first Bills game in 1960 during the preseason. It was at the rock pile and I remembered they had bills players in the back of convertible cars throwing white footballs into the stands. I was so excited I peed my pants and didn't tell my older brother who took me to the game because I was embarrassed. No I'm my late '60s and I'll start peeing my pants again soon but I'm trying to hold it till the bills win a super bowl. 😲
