Will the thought: “Let’s not hit him hard because we don’t want to be responsible for his progressive brain damage,” start to creep into defenders’ heads? I imagine seeing him unconscious on the field with that weird rigor mortis thing is unpleasant for all involved . Yet he announced to the world that he loves football to the “d**** of me.” It feels morbid even to type it. This is such a weird matchup. The standard goal should be to hit him clean, but hit him hard. Pass rushers are predatory athletes by nature. Yeah, the league or the Dolphins should have over-ridden his decision to return. No one wins if he's concussed again, and that's likely just a matter of time. 1 Quote

Like they threw a pillow case over the helmet with cheap foam underneath and then asked a 3rd grader to draw the logo and color it in. The NFL is a 100 billion industry or whatever. They can’t design a better looking and safer helmet?! more players like Tua would wear it if they did. One thing to realize while the guardian may help a bit, it has been shown to reduce the force only 10-15% Quote For the first time, players are competing in games wearing Guardian Caps, a soft-shell helmet overlay shown to reduce the force of impact by 10-15% per player involved in a collision, and newly designed position-specific helmets. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicolekraft/2024/09/30/nfl-advances-helmet-safety-with-guardian-caps-position-specific-gear/#:~:text=For the first time%2C players,hot%2C and they lack style. The bottom line is that a concussion is caused when your head and brain are traveling in the same direction, and your head stops but your brain keeps going and hits against the inside of your skull. There are situations where no amount of padding will necessarily prevent that scenario 2 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted October 30 Posted October 30 This is a very big game. You can really get up on this division if you sweep Miami. If 1 team is going to get back in this division, it was always going to be the dolphins. They have dangerous weapons and they are incredibly fast. They also know us very well. Not going to be easy but getting 2 against Miami is huge 3 Quote

You can't win anything of note in this league with that. 1 Quote

Big Turk Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) For a good laugh on the Fins Forum... https://finheaven.com/threads/oh-no-its-the-bills.385112/ Here are a few gems from the front page of the thread 😂 - "No were gonna get smashed, I bet it's over by halftime." - "No need for a 'predict the score' thread this week. Bills own us." - "Bills will do what they always do. They’ll push us around, take away what we want to do on offense, force Tua into tough situations where he turns the ball over and Allen will have his way with our defense. I’m surprised we’re only 5.5 point dogs on the road." - "It’s got to be hard for Allen to get up for this game, we’ve been so pathetic against him for years I don’t know where he finds the motivation" Edited October 30 by Big Turk 5 Quote

Not going to be easy but getting 2 against Miami is huge I know what you're saying but I think it's only a big game in the sense that it's an NFL game, and every Bills game feels huge. With a 3.5 game division lead at only week 8, this realistically is not a big Bills/Dolphins game. Miami could win and the Bills likely still roll to AFC East champs. My worry, as always is that the Bills are complacent. I hope they take the game a lot more seriously than some of our fans do, who just assume we will win by 3+ TDs. Never underestimate the opponent, especially a wounded animal like the fins. 2 Quote
JerseyBills Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I started the somewhat infamous WR thread lol and said this is the most complete O under 17,OL ,run game and with Coopnow WR, was dead wrong on that btw and the D looks phenomenal, gets a very very good Von back, hopefully Benard but they're playing this scheme at an extremely high level Sky is the limit for both groups and the team Quote

Don Otreply Posted October 30 Posted October 30 It’s going to be a dog fight of a game, we need to come out swinging, and play physical from the first snap, because Miami will come into Buffalo with a revenge attitude, and try like hell to take this one, GO BILLS!!! Quote

I don’t doubt this is how you truly feel, but it feels like manufactured concern in hopes of drumming some feelings and angst about the outcome of this game. It’s more exciting when there’s “something on the line” but in reality, I can’t get there for this game anymore, until Miami shows they can actually stop Allen, I’m simply kicking back and awaiting the annual and inevitable Bills win(x2) while already looking ahead to the Colts. There was absolutely NOTHING scary about Miami. Tua has started 3 games. The terrible Jaguars fumbled away the first one. The Bills put their foot up Miami’s ass in the 2nd one, and they got beat by the Cardinals in the 3rd one. All at home. Miami is not a good football team. Sure, upsets happen but the Bills will shred that Miami defense once again this Sunday. I mean, to be fair, Achane is outstanding and a pretty big threat if we can't take him out of his game. Quote

If it goes as I believe, the first half is going to be competitive, but we will take over after the half, I just don’t want to see complacency with our guys, it’s a division game, and those can be hard fought, 1 Quote

balln Posted October 30 Posted October 30 If you’re a contender or vying for #1 seed. You don’t lose winnable games at home to an inferior divisional opponent. Of course kc Lost to raiders last year at home. But. Well. I stand by the above 1 1 Quote
