pennstate10 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Watched the end of the Commies game yesterday. That was a terrific play by the QB, but also really bad D by the Bears. I’ve been a Bills fan since the late 60s, but don’t remember a single game won by Hail Mary. I might have missed one in the pre internet days when it was harder to follow out of town teams. Quote
Sojourner Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Yeah, Joe Ferguson to get the Bills into the playoffs during the 80’s. Didn’t see it live but have seen the replays. 3 Quote
Ned Flanders Posted October 28 Posted October 28 (edited) 1981 vs. New England. I was there. Hooks' catch before the TD was even more remarkable. Edited October 28 by Ned Flanders 10 7 12 Quote

Bob in STL Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I was there too. Roland Hooks. That was an excellent team. A Chuck Knox Super Bowl Team. 4 Quote
loyal2dagame Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I know we've lost some games on a hail mary Too soon? Quote
Beast Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I was there as well. In the parking lot with my Dad when it happened. ☹️ 1 1 1 Quote

Me too. Listed to his call on the radio. I was ecstatic. Why did I have to listen on the radio? Because, as was normal for Buffalo then, the game was blacked out locally. Even though Buffalo was a playoff team that year and one of the SB favorites. Edited October 28 by chongli Quote
Dan Darragh Posted October 28 Posted October 28 (edited) I fell asleep on the couch listening to the game on the radio, but woke up just in time to hear Van Miller's call of the final drive. TV was blacked out in Rochester, too. Edited October 28 by Dan Darragh 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted October 28 Posted October 28 The excited celebrations from the 70s and early 80s were so lame... 😂 2 Quote

Yep, it was definitely blacked out. 1 minute ago, K-9 said: IIRC, Hooks caught a long pass on a previous play to get us in Hail Mary position to begin with. Hooks scores and the place, with what fans remained, erupts. I hear guys screaming, rushing out of the bathroom behind us...some still trying to pull their pants up, trying to see what the hell just happened. 😂 7 Quote
