Was Cooper hurt or something today?

It's not like I have particular insight but I think it was a combination of a few factors.

1) Opponent: from what I've dug up, Seattle loves to run zone coverage. Keon and Shakir have had no issue beating that this year. Seattle has also ranked near the bottom in run defense.

2) Field conditions: it was a downpour with the field and ball slick (as we saw many times)

Were I, a complete novice, to cook up a situational game plan my immediate thought would be to explore the team strength/weakness by putting primary attack on the run game (Cook went off 100+ yards, 2 TDs) and shorter timing routes. Those are things it takes time to build chemistry on and I don't think Cooper is there yet, especially when you had two options that were working wonders

Agreed... Shakir, Kincaid, Coleman and the RBs were getting great separation...There was no need to shove something under Amari's throat.

I know Josh said if teams roll coverage his way , he will throw it elsewhere.

Will be interesting to see the all 22 if cooper opened things up for Shakir, Coleman, cook etc

All of Colemans production last week came when Cooper was not on the field.  People are going to over exaggerate the last 2 week breakout of Coleman as if it was because of Cooper, but it really wasn't.  It is more they are moving Coleman around more and also just giving him more targets.

Either way, Cooper's existence requires the defense to plan for him in a way that they didn't have to plan for Hollins.

Ernest Jones has to be pretty salty. Played the Bills 2 weeks in a row and got beat down by the Bills two weeks in a row.

Still time to trade him to the Dolphins.

The moving him around more IS related to Cooper though. The spent the first 6 weeks just running Keon vertical outside almost every play because they didn't have anyone else to do it and that isn't his game. He isn't particularly good at it. They've had a ton of success the past couple of weeks using him in condensed formations and getting the ball in his hands. The contested catches are nice, but it is hard to make a living in the NFL doing just that. The Bills feeling like it doesn't HAVE to be Keon outside and down the field all the time has given them the freedom to get him the ball some other ways. The Cooper signing definitely has impacted that even if the impact is more indirect than direct.

He took a blow to the upper arm but played afterward. Saw him smiling at Allen + hug at end of game. Josh probably said “more next week” or along those lines

him slipping on the play where Josh was picked didn’t help

remember, he is going to drag coverage his way, just as teams did to Diggs last year, which opens up everyone else a bit.  Josh will go to who is open

Im Not denying that. My comment had little to do with Coleman, I was was saying it will be interesting to see how cooper opened things for the offence this week as he wasn't involved much with targets. As Josh did state post game he attracted a lot of coverage

All I felt like I saw all game was #89 in motion , sprinting back and forth behind the LOS pre-snap.

Who is #89? Lol

Who was that dude?  He was put in motion a couple times across the field and I’m like didn’t know we had an 89 on the team.

Just looked it up - Jalen Virgil, got the call up from the PS with Curtis Samuel injured.

38 snaps.  50%.  Bills saving some money by icing him.  It's smart--send him back out as needed.  Yesterday: not needed.

"In addition to Amari Cooper’s base salary, his contract also includes performance-based incentives (per Spotrac) that could impact the Bills’ 2025 cap space depending on his on-field production. Cooper can earn $1 million if he is named first team All-Pro and $500,000 for second team All-Pro honors. Additionally, he has a $1 million incentive tied to reaching 1,251 receiving yards in the season."
