Tom Brady post-game interview of Josh Allen, his "favorite QB"

Tom Brady has been open about advising Allen here and there since he retired. Maybe he does not want Mahomes to move past him for all the best achievements for a QB in NFL glories.

 

The number of check downs Allen has taken this season, not pressing for bigger, more difficult plays are noticeable. And Brady pointed that in the broadcast and we all heard Brady said that part of the game to Allen before. I also thought his story of how he became the unquestioned leader of the Patriots a few years into his career is kind of interesting. It does seem that it is the kind of the transition that Allen is on right now, minus the fact that those Bills leaders who left didn't help Allen to win any Superbowl.  

 

Also Allen's accuracy in those short passes has improved remarkably this season. We see him hitting people in strides more often now. And Joe Brady, the running backs we have now helped as well.

I do find it interesting that many former players, Brady and Kelce specifically, are big Allen fans. 
 

I will take their praise over commentators any day.

I commented in the game thread how Brady loves Allen and the Bills.  He was genuinely more excited today talking about Josh and the O than i’ve heard him in any other game. He knows Allen off the field, golf, etc and i’m sure he hopes Josh gets to raise a Lombardi someday

I should probably correct before the Sharks jumping in. The word check down may not be the right word since it carries a negative notion. More of the QB decision to make throws to an open receiver that may get you a first down. If I'm not mistaken, in the last drive Allen played, Brady prasied Allen for a throw of 8 yards on 3rd and 10, pretty much said it is the only guy who was open and gave him a chance to make the first down. Don't take unnecessary hits.

I think there's a fair chance Brady wants Allen to stop Mahmoes chase of his records. 

 

What I like about this, regardless of Brady's motives, is that when the most successful QB of all time tells Josh he's playing "smarter" that has to be great positive reinforcement and a deterrent to going back to hero ball.

In addition to both being members of the superstar quarterback club, Brady and Josh are both California boys, albeit from different worlds.

 

Also I believe they both grew up as Niners fans.

Brady was very pro Bills most of the game.  Especially after it was clear they were dominating.  I kinda like his commentary today.

I hated Brady for so many years, but now I love him. His commentary was incredible today. I respect him more than anything for what he was able to do in the league for so long. Hes the goat.

Come on, you are playing right into his hands.....he knows how much Bills fans have hated him for the last two decades, and he is trying to get on Bills fans good side.

 

You can't go from throwing "Billdo's" at him and calling him Marcia to praising him for a few positive comments.....

For what it’s worth…I often listened to the national MNF radio broadcast while traveling for work. Brady always did a call in interview at halftime. I was honestly shocked that his personality seemed completely different from the ultra competitive d-bag he acted like on the field.

Well his ex-wife was an actress and got him acting lessons which helped with him getting calls.  He is acting now in role and maybe hoping to get an acting award.

So, now that Brady is partial owner of the Raiders, does him calling Josh Allen his favorite QB constitute tampering? And if so how many compensation choices shuld we expect?  🤣

 

Seriously though, when it started raining and Brady was going on and on about the special things they would do to make sure the balls stayed the way he liked them in New England when it got wet was there anyone out there not screaming "YEAH YOU DEFLATED THE BALLS YOU LYING JACKASS!"??
