Diggs did not take less money -he got $22.5M from Houston and would have less from the Bills (see my previous cutout of ESPN article).

Diggs and his agent knew he was never going to get the full amount listed on his contract from Buffalo in 2025.

So no, if money was his top priority Diggs would not have stayed in Buffalo for $18M when he gets $22.5M from Houston.

I know, I just tagged you in a post and said my bad.  I had a different understanding of the void, I thought it was Houston that wanted it voided and that after Beanes restructure of Diggs last year that he still had a big guarantee next season.  I was mistaken and not afraid to acknowledge that when I am.  So again, my bad

They voided his final 2 seasons.  Diggs and his agent know he isn't going to get a new contract at 32 years old on par with the extension he got in Buffalo, no where close to that.  And they are also fully aware that any significant injury this year would further deplete his future earnings as a FA when he is going to be 32.

So I can't understand how you don't think he didn't willingly take less money to make the move to what he felt was a better situation.  If money was his priority versus being in a better situation to win he would have stayed in Buffalo.

All good, just respectfully disagree that he didn't willing take less to move on.

Gtd money is the only thing that matters and Houston gave him all of that this season.  I don’t think he took less money.  Leaving Buffalo to join a team with a better SB chance, maybe.  Not sure what would’ve happened if they would’ve traded him to a lesser team than Buffalo.  I don’t think he forced a trade to Houston specifically

No problems.  I obviously carry over a little bitterness with Diggs.  I think a lot of his forcing movement had to do with his wanting big numbers.  That's not the design or intent with J Brady's offense.

Here's to hoping A Cooper understands and can accept the role J Brady wants.

Diggs wouldn't have gone to Houston if he wanted stats

Away from the bills primarily I think

Then whatever Houston has that buffalo doesn't etc etc

And I think the vast majority here are just fine that Diggs decided he needed to find greener pastures. I really liked Stef in most of his time here. The drama off the field (and maybe on it for all I know) took its toll.

I was very ready for him to go tbh

I appreciate his play here for the most part. But he was never really that bonafide stud wideout he imagined himself to be if we are being totally honest

He excelled at a particular skill set (great hands, dynamic route runner, short area quickness) and maximized his talent for sure but he was never Adams, never Hill, never Jefferson or Hopkins or even Chase...he's basically terry mclaurin just playing w Josh Allen imo

How is it a fact that Diggs took less money, where are you getting this?  It was my understanding that Houston took his contract and gave him a raise along with shortening his contract.  Pretty much the opposite of what you are saying.

Secondly, yes Diggs had drama prior to J Brady but it didn't seem to affect his performance.  Diggs took his drama to another level with J Brady - he showed it on the field.  It is unacceptable and Diggs had to be moved.  The non-movement off the line, and the taking himself out on 3rd downs were all only on J Brady's watch.

I respectfully disagree that Diggs took less money and thought he had any better chance of the SuperBowl - that is just his cover for his behavior.

100% Diggs didn’t go to Houston because it gave it gave him the best chance to win a SB.  He went there because he wanted out of Buffalo and Houston was one of the few teams willing to give up. 2nd round pick for a 31 year-old WR.

I think there was a part of him that thought he’s still a WR1 and that he was going to prove it in Houston and get a big deal in 2025.   Everyone else knew that he’s lost a step.

The reality is that Stef hasn’t surpassed 100 yards in 21 games now.  His last 100 yard game performance came on that Sunday night crap fest against NYG where the Bills won 14-9.

Still after Stef retires in a few years, I feel he’s going to be one of those ex Bills players that becomes embraced by the fanbase later on

Diggs left cause of the insanity of the GDTs.  I think we can all agree on that.

GDTs are the biggest advertisement for recreational cannabis.

Half the posters could down a spliff the size of hockey stick and still manage to type "TeamsoftfireMcDermott13Seconds" before it kicked in.

I said it for years here, Diggs never scared anyone.  You knew he was going to get his catches, but nobody was worried he was going to destroy them.

The real reason Diggs wanted out of Buffalo is simple… he had run through all the hotties he was going to find in B-lo and Toronto was too inconvenient to get back from in time for practice.  The logical solution was new pastures.

I’disagree with this - in 2020 or 2021 he was every bit as good as the WRs you mentioned.

To you point, his weakness seemed to be that he didn’t like playing physical man corners and he often struggled against high end CB’s.   This was very noticeable during the 2023 season.  Everyone wanted to blame Brady for Diggs’ decline in production.  The offensive scheme might have been a factor, but he was no longer the player he was a few years earlier

You can disagree all you like lol

Diggs was here for a formative part of the Bills and Allen and for that I appreciate him but nobody in their right mind is taking him over those guys I mentioned

It's funny that you should say that because one of the first thoughts when I saw the injury was "we dodged a bullet". It's possible that it was situational - random cut on a random piece of turf on a random Houston play. But my thought was being non-contact, it was probably a result of his knee just being ready to give at any given time and that it would have happened with us.

You sure? 0:)

Seriously, I think Diggs thought, "ascending team, #7 passing offense in the league last year, hot young QB who can help me put up Big Numbers while I help him elevate his passing game just like I did when I came to Buffalo and John Brown was the 1000+ yd guy with Beasley as the #2".

I don't think a guy like Diggs ever thinks "I'm on the downhill slide, Nico Collins is the Big Dawg there, Dell is the #2, I'll be fighting for my target share"

I think this is revisionist, TBH.  In 2020 and 2021, Diggs was plenty scary.  He was never the big outside guy, but he was that "climb the ladder, one handed catch, he can be doubled and he'll still make the catch" guy and he drew attention accordingly.  But he started to fall off in 2022, especially in the back half of the season.
