It will do in a pinch. I don't really have strong feelings about Diggs either way. We knew what we were getting when we traded for him and he did exactly what everyone expected. I don't know why people are butthurt about it. Diggs is the sort of guy who needs to get thrown out of an Applebee's every now and again just to feel normal. I'd wager his personal relationships are similar to his professional ones. Everything is great early on, then he gets bored and itchy and feels the needs for something new and then agitates the situation until someone ditches him. He won't ditch them, but he will be an ass until he gets ditched so he can preserve his ego and sense of continual aggrievance. I have nothing to add and am just quoting this because it's dead nuts on. 2 2 1 Quote
wjag Posted October 28 Posted October 28 (edited) I think I am a typical football fan. I don't wish for injuries but I am also relieved when an opponent isn't available when the Bills play them. No one around the league cares that you are undermanned. Every team is undermanned somewhere. Diggs was great for Buffalo and I celebrated him when he was here. He turned sour and forced his way out. He did what most WRs do... I will remember the good times and wish him well except when it matters to the Bills. Edited October 28 by wjag 1 Quote

See I thought he grabbed the upper area near the bottom of his quad which could be a tendon. Whatever. We will find out tomorrow. I don't wish the guy ill, we've had wayyy bigger turds roll through town. Agreed. The league is better with Diggs on the field. Before during and after games. Quote
pennstate10 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Doesn’t matter who the player is. Non contact knees that buckle like that are either ACL or medial meniscus injuries. 1 Quote
Generic_Bills_Fan Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Seems like Vegas is expecting him to miss some time…jets are a one point favorite over the Texans this Thursday 1 1 Quote

This is one of those eye test games for the refs. I'm sure the league would LIKE the Jets to win to keep them and Rodgers relevant a little while longer. The Jets pulling out a late win with a little help wouldn't shock me at all. 3 Quote

Losing Diggs too will certainly have an impact and they could be ripe for the upset. 1 Quote
BillsfaninSB Posted October 28 Posted October 28 So do we need to take emotion out of it and root for the Jets? 1 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted October 28 Posted October 28 49 minutes ago, Alphadawg7 said: Yup, Diggs just learned a painful lesson...be careful what you wish for. If this injury is serious like an ACL, he will have likely lost at least $30M in earnings because what ever deal he gets next will be peanuts compared to what he was set to make staying in Buffalo the next couple of season. Sure, but for the many things people can say about Stef and criticise him for I don't think he has ever been a guy who plays for the money. I don't think that is his motivation. Getting out of Buffalo was certainly not about the money for him. If it is an ACL, and obviously I hope it isn't, the bigger question is how does that affect his already dminished speed and how much value does he have when he returns? 12,000 yards matters much more to Stef I think if it is an ACL that probably slides out of view somewhat. 2 Quote
TFBillsfan Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Reports coming out it’s likely a torn ACL. Texans believe WR Stefon Diggs suffered a torn ACL in yesterday’s game vs the Colts and he now will undergo an MRI to confirm the injury, per source. #HTownMade Quote

HansLanda Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I know it's part of the NFL, but injuries just are terrible. This is why no one should ever care if a guy is "trying to get paid." 2 1 1 Quote
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Wish him well with his recovery, but man, the Bills this morning… Quote
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted October 28 Posted October 28 So now he'll be a free agent coming off ACL injury, getting older, and last memory of his play was getting into it with close to entire Green Bay team and coach afterwards criticizing him for it. Add to that any GM would have to ask what team is willing to take, was it $29mil cap hit on a guy just to be rid of him. I'm sure some team will sign him, but with Diggs ego he will likely turn offers down that don't give him top money too for next season. Quote

Also regardless of any of our feelings, it's a legitimate discussion whether Diggs is worthy of compassion and sympathy in this moment. Ironically one could argue that his injury is his karma. I understand the disappointment... I understand the frustration.... I also understand the behavior was just too much and added up to a negative for us when combined with what we were paying him. A change was in order... with regards to sympathy... I would say, I am not sure there was anyone who wanted to win more... the way he handled losing was horrible... I am not sure anyone intended to be a better team mate (I remember him taking an uber to the hospital when Hamlin had the heart failure) but he was over bearing and held grudges if you didnt see eye to eye... flawed person... yes... time to move on... yes... better with out him.... a lot of players are.... compassion and empathy.... absolutely .... like a girlfriend who you really liked but just werent compatable anymore... dont wanna go out... wish her the best.. just my view... 2 Quote

SCBills Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Schefter is on McAfee and said it's normally not good news when there's no news. Said he's reached out, but hasn't heard anything from anyone. Left it off with their HC speaks to reporters at 2 pm today, so maybe we'll hear something then. Quote
