Shirtless no.  Though his fashion is wild.  Opening weekend at the new Stadium yes.  100%.  As time fades Buffalo will be his fondest memories in the league.

There is a common denominator among some of the Bills players who have entered the fan base is that while they were here they had these giant but soft personalities and really embraced the city and its fans.

When thinking of guys like Fitz, Stevie Johnson and Tre White come to mind. To a lesser extent you could even throw Shady McCoy into the mix.

But Diggs on his worst days here was very cold to the city, and on his best days “fine”. Fitz is a guy you wish you could invite to your kids birthday party and Diggs is a guy nobody wants to date their daughter.

Also, you think he’s going to be there the opening weekend for the new stadium? HAHAHAHA

Can I get a big AMEN to the bolded?

Totally agree - And Fitz is a family guy who raised kids in Buffalo.  A much, much deeper connection to the city than Diggs will ever have.

Disagree.

Fitz seems to be and was one of us during a game when he was under contract for another team.

I do not think Diggs will be invited to be "Player of the game" for many years.

Just takes Diggs in a a year or so say something like he really misses the fans or something and everyone here is back in with both feet.

Does he have a $16 million hit next year? I thought he reworked his deal with them to make himself a free agent. Which means he will get less next year because a team will have to sign him and let him rehab on their dime.

He does.

It’s how they gave him $22M GTD but he only costs them $5.8M against the cap this year.

Although, I’m not sure if void years disqualify for comp picks.

This is such nonsense. Kelly trashed Buffalo before ge got here. Bruce Smith left for Virginia ten minutes after the season was over every year.

Diggs was a great player for this organization and never once said anything negative about the city or the fans.

Why just fans tear down players that leave?

No, he sheit the mess kit on his way out, damage is done and is, imo, terminal.

And Diggs is not the type of guy to suddenly be all lovey dovey and say nice things about his time in Buffalo beyond maybe a shoutout to former team members like josh Allen..

Kelly did marry a local girl. A college friend was classmates with her.

I personally never liked Jim Kelly. He’s a noted woman abuser. He spent years crapping on this town all the time then asking us for money for Hunters Hope when the cameras were on.

I feel bad for his cancer diagnosis, his children, etc.

I didn’t mention Kelly or Bruce. Those guys are HoF’ers and are tattooed into the fanbase because they weren’t just great Bills but at the time all time greats at their positions.

I specifically mentioned Fitz, Tre, and Stevie because that’s a different class of entrenched Bills fandom largely based on their personalities not their production in red white and blue.

(The “don’t want to date your daughter” was a locker room vote. If you don’t like it bring it up to his teammates)

Diggs "earned" the fan derision on his way out and comparing him to Bruce Smith living in Virginia and Kelly trashing Buffalo before he got here are totally irrelevant.

Diggs screaming at Allen on the sidelines in 2022 and then using his younger brother throughout most of 2023 to demand a trade really rubbed me the wrong way.

He was given tons of money in Buffalo, not to mention a top-3 QB (at worst) who targeted him 10+ times a game. When he finally did successfully force his way out, they sent him to another good team with another great QB.

I never like to see anyone get hurt, but I'm not exactly going to lose sleep over it either.

He's got enough money to spend the rest of his life traveling and eating surf and turf so I'm not going to feel bad for him.

It's hard to manufacture a lot of empathy for a-hole drama queens.

You know what they say - if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

Still fresh.  Fans were ready to throw Fitz over Niagra falls when he was cut.  Maybe not 2026 still might be playing but not much later.  Bouncing around from team to team.  Mccoy left in a similar way.  Diggs after he isn’t competing against Buffalo will change his tune.  All these stubborn fans will change there tune if he says a few complimentary things towards the fan base. Maybe he doesn't and it’s always weird.  I predict he does while he transitions to tv.

Officially tore his ACL as per Schefter.

I said he was done in Sunday when I saw the injury occur.  Sern it motpre than a few times over the years in a non contact turn injury.

it wasn’t a meniscus tear. I’ve had it happen to both of my knees and had surgery.

What?

I dont recall Bills fans ready to throw Fitz over Niagara Falls, I call total BS on that.

I disagree with everything you say here except maybe McCoy to a certain extent.

I think you understood the premise.

If you have anything stating with authority that Diggs demanded a trade, I'll agree.

No, he got his brother to do that for him. Like the ***** he is.

Understand there are a group of fans (pedants!) who insist they are technically correct that he didn't stand at the front door of OBD demanding a trade publicly. Well done to you guys.

Everyone else is completely and utterly aware of exactly what happened here, and are (rightly imo) disappointed in how he carried on and what it cost the Bills (in cash, and SB chances after he downed tools, started pulling himself out of snaps, just generally talking complete *****)

I think the difference is Allen has achieved a level of fandom with the Bills that few others have.  Diggs' issues and treatment of #17 for his last year plus here (notably back to the Cincinatti debacle, the last straw tweet "You sure" etc) have soured his image here beyond repair with most.  It doesn't take much of a leap to read between the lines as to what Allen thinks of him.  The "Everybody Eats" speech and repeated mention was absolutely his way of bashing Diggs without saying his name.  Fans aren't forgiving Diggs for forcing his way out of what most would say is a great situation (qb and winning-wise) for less money guaranteed (biting him in the ass now).  Sorry he is hurt, but thrilled he is no longer a Bill.
