You could say the same thing about Hopkins or Cooper the way they'd played prior to being traded. Sometimes vets need to be on a winning team to bring out the best in them. It's Kyle Van Noy syndrome. That guys looked washed 5 different times but put him in a playoff race and he suddenly becomes one of the more impactful players on that defense. I suspect Armstead and Jadeveon Clowney will revert to prior season form if they join contending teams at the deadline. 1 Quote
Chaos Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Don't want Kupp. Don't want to risk mortaging the future, just to win a super bowl or two. 4 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I heard a rumor that Cooper and Kupp are working of a trade of their names. If the trade happens, Amari would be called Cooper Cooper and Kupp would be Amari Kupp. 1 1 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted October 27 Posted October 27 (edited) The Bills aren’t “set” at WR. They’re average there (no longer tragic). With that being said, Kupp doesn’t make a ton of sense. The Bills have lots of slot options. It wouldn’t be crazy to se another boundary guy though. That way Coleman and Shakir can work from the slot. I don’t foresee another move at WR but it isn’t out of the question. Mike Williams is an example of the kind of guy that could help (although the Jets wouldn’t trade him to the Bills). Cooper and Williams playing on the outside with Shakir and Keon in the slot. Samuel working as the gadget guy. That’s a pretty good room (especially with Keon coming on). I’m not expecting it but there is absolutely room to get better at WR. WR/S/DT/pass rush are the areas that they can still get better at (excluding kicker). Edited October 27 by Kirby Jackson 1 Quote

I don't know that anyone has ever been traded twice midseason. I can't find any info on it. That sounds pretty unrealistic. The Jets were pretty much dead in the water when they made the move for him. I don't think them now being completely dead is going to make them go "well, let's move the guy we just traded for two weeks ago". I think they envision keeping him beyond this year given they re-worked his deal after they got him. Edited October 27 by BillsFanForever19 2 Quote

No ones ever taken a $40M cap hit to trade away a WR either. i don’t think it’s likely by any means. But if you called the Jets tomorrow and offered a 2025 second, I think they think long and hard about it. Quote
Utah John Posted October 27 Posted October 27 (edited) The only trade that might make sense for Kupp would involve sending Amari Cooper to the Rams. They would need a top-level receiver to go with Nacua. Cooper could be that guy. I think Kupp is somewhat better than Cooper so some additional asset (5th?) would be needed to go west too. But I still think the salary cap issues make any deal for Kupp impractical. And really unnecessary. Granted Cooper had a quiet day today but wait till next week when the Bills put Shakir, Cooper, and the two TEs up against Miami's weak pass defense. After that I think the chatter about adding another WR will die down. Edited October 27 by Utah John Quote

Unless the player is a quarterback, any player with more than 10 years experience cannot be ranked higher than a fifth-round compensatory pick. Wow, this is a great find. I had no idea. Nice work! Floydboy12 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I feel like Shakir can give the Bills everything Kupp can but is younger, healthier and cheaper. The WR room looks pretty solid with the addition of Amari. My hope is to get back Samuels healthy and see what he can do. We do need to figure out if Bernard and Milano can ever stay healthy. If not they need linebacker help. Williams, who i like, was out of position a lot today. And Spector is a backup at best. Quote
