10/27/24 Game 8 GAMEDAY Bills at Seahawks

I’m a little nervous about this game. Mostly because I don’t follow them, we rarely play them and it takes a full day to travel there. Then, it’s always raining there. It’s one of the few places left in the Country I haven’t visited -and I’m in no hurry.. Biggest news going into the game is we’ll be without TB! DAMMIT! I’ve voiced my displeasure with McDermott seeming so nonchalant about injuries on the team, then sitting players who could go. It makes me pine for the days of Rex Ryan. He always started off every presser with a full injury update. There was no ‘I dunno, I haven’t talked to anybody’ crap Sean feeds us, only to shock us with late week devastating news of who’s out! 🤬 It’s so maddening but that’s just something we have to live with.. For a guy who seemingly never strays far from the ‘Hot Seat’ despite his most impressive record, changing this up would go a long way towards improving fan appreciation, imo.

What do we know about the Seahawks? Their record is 4-3 so they believe in themselves, though a tad dyslexic. Started off with 3 big wins, then dropped 3 straight badly only to turn around, travel to Atlanta and smoke the Falcons 😳. They have a great pair of DEs -actually 4!, very strong running game and a fine Secondary, especially at Nickle back. QB Geno Smith has finally learned how to play the position. He rarely throws deep but has become very good at short-midrange throws and his receivers are big time RAC guys! They have an excellent run game and very good against it, where we’re .um.. not great against the run. But they can be run on too! I think we HAVE to start better than we have on both sides of the ball, as Seattle is an unusually loud environment where they rarely let teams come back from early deficits. Metcalf is likely out and he’s far and away their biggest offensive threat. But Lockett, Noah Fant & Njigba are very good players as well.

For us, we have the far better QB, far better OL and better/more experienced coaching. Plus, we’re well schooled playing against Leslie Frazier’s defense, their new DC. Additionally, we’re unaware of what Joe Brady & company have cooked up with a full week to play with new toy Amari Cooper, but early results are very promising with Shakir, AFCRotW Coleman and the TE’s feasting on single coverage last Sunday. I look for more receptions from our RBs as well.

Bernard’s loss is painful and will likely show with Dorian Williams in his spot. If either team can afford a loss though, it’s us, given the traffic jam in the NFCW. But it would definitely hurt and make for a long, miserable flight home! I’m hoping for an uncomfortable Win today, meaning I won’t get much sleep before working the graveyard shift tonight..

Let’s DO THIS!

GO BILLS!

It’s annoying as a fan when McDermott tip toes around the injury subject, but I definitely understand why. Everything should be on a need to know basis. Why give your opponent anything ? Keep them guessing and put a dent in their game plan.

I am going to give attending the game a pass to avoid catching a worse cold than I currently have (or something even much worse) by sitting in the rain or wind for this game.

At over 60 years of age, I believe I am now wiser than that.

i thought I would beat the traffic and take a cab from downtown Seattle to the airport early.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a sports bar near the airport but not actually in the airport with its inflated pricing?

I was looking at BZ's Sports Bar.

Any good?

"Sal’s prediction: Bills 30, Seahawks 24."

Pretty ballsy of Sal. I hope he's right. I foresee a closer game than that.

Soooooooo much damn rain right now.

That is my memory of visiting Seattle. The rain isn't just a cliche, it's real.

If I lived there I would buy a bunch of Goretex waterproof apparel and give the middle finger to the rain, like I do with the snow here.

“It’s a non-conference game so it isn’t that important, and the Bills would still be easily in first.”

B*** S***.  Lose this game and you can start to wrap your head around the fact that the #1 is out of reach, especially with a roadie against the Lions coming up later in the season.

”No worries, as long as the Bills are healthy headed into the playoffs.”

B*** M*, because the Bills next road playoff win will be the first of McDermott’s tenure and the first by this franchise in 32 years, since the ‘92 Championship game in Miami.

In short…overcome and win this game.  Set yourself up nicely for the next few.

Dream: The Killer K's (Cooper, Coleman, Kincaid, and ShaKir) are open everywhere and get big-time YAC. Cook has a 100-yard game, the defense does enough to force Hawks into passing exclusively, and the pass rush gets home.

Nightmare (besides injuries): Penalties on the O-line stalls several drives, Allen's first interception another; meanwhile, Walker blows through the weak middle of the D again and again for huge gains, allowing Geno all the time he needs in the pocket. Bills playing from behind all day, comes down to a 46-yard field goal try by Bass. (Enough said.)

I'm going with the dream.

Not getting the 1 seed Balt and Texans have tiebreakers plus the KC game is a toss up
