Amazing how the guy is still trying to come back from an injury, but he's done, washed.  Maybe y'all are right, but I'm still a big Tre' fan.

He was notoriously slow to get back into form after the ACL. It may be the same with the Achilles and he may eventually find his form before he ages out. He’ll never be the guy he used to be, but anything reasonably close is someone I’d take a good look at.

one of my favorite bills of all time.  Love to have him back - but admittedly its not the right move for the team.  Sign him to a 1 day contract at the end of his career.

I don’t care if anybody has an issue with this, beef him up and become a safety. Whether it’s as a Bill or another team. Dudes got too much instinct and ability not to make the conversion. Even if it’s in a backup capacity.

His instincts playing CB and stopping WR’s is commendable. His tackling is not. It takes more than beefing up, it takes “want to”.

the take on he is a poor tackler is and always has been overblown. I vividly remember him missing tackles. But it wasn’t the level that people brought it up to. He made a lot of instinctual tfls too.

A TFL is rarely violent. Taking on a TE flying up the seam is different.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy! But I’m going to be realistic as well. I’d take a look if he’s free next season. That’s about all I’d commit to.

I wouldn't trade anything for him now, but if you believe in the principle of "buy low, sell high" then maybe take a flyer on him next season.  He had a major leg injury just last year and his play should improve when he fully recovers. I think there's a chance that he develops into solid depth in the right system.

Immediately after the first injury I figured the future of Tre White was S. This could be an absolute perfect opportunity here to make this move and let him close out his career where he should be. Move him to S. He knows the defense, his skill set is absolutely transferable. He absolutely can handle every aspect of it. Bring back an all time Bill and fan favorite and help fix the issue you have back there. I’d be all for it if you can make the money work.

Tre White is a terrible tackler. He would not be a good safety. Guys like Benford or Douglas would be better safeties because they excel in zone coverage and are great tacklers. White is not like that.

Some people have been throwing around Elam as a safety. That is even more foolish than thinking White could be a safety. Elam is a man coverage corner. Zone has been more of a struggle. He would be a terrible safety.

This board has a thread that Keon is slow??... No thanks, Tre got some tough breaks, but a lot of love on this board.

Show is over for him here if we truly want to win a Superbowl.

I feel like a 1st and a 2nd might get it done... but offer 2 2nds and sweeten the deal if necessary.

The best they can do is an 8th round pick.

Okay... maybe I'm wrong.

We are winning the Super Bowl this year. Tre White is the only player I would feel bad for when we host the Lombardi. Get him back

No we’re not. The fact you’re feeling bad for a washed player is pure emotion , not rationality

Interestingly through week 7 PFF has the #8 cornerback in the league as non other than the much maligned Levi Wallace.

Only 14 cornerbacks on rosters over age 30. two; of these, Ramsey and Wallace grade out in the top 10.

Top graded cornerback in the league [tho with limited snap count] is our own Kaiir Elam.

If you have access I'd love to know where Rasul and Benford stack up.

Thanks!

The info I found online says White signed a 1 year, $10M contract with the Rams after he was released by the Bills. If the Bills or any other team trades for him, they're responsible for the balance of that contract which seems insane.  The Rams must be kicking themselves about giving that much to an older player.

If the Rams outright release White, he can sign elsewhere for whatever he can negotiate.  Maybe the Bills, if he's willing to take the vet minimum.

If his speed is gone, safety is not for him.

Beef him up and sign him as a Safety. If that doesn’t work, beef him up more and see if he can back up Bernard. If all else fails, we could use depth on the d-line.

If no one picks him up then yes I would consider a cheap 1 yr deal as a backup CB.  But under no circumstances do I start him or pay him anything close to the Rams generous deal.  Those 2 injuries were devastating.

The guy had a few pretty serious injuries and I feel sorry for the guy.

It's time to hang em up Tre.
