DeepPass Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I get a bit tired of hearing Andy is the BEST NFL Coach. He's coached 26 years as a Head Coach with a career record of 264-144-1. A winning record of .647% He failed at every Super Bowl opportunity BEFORE drafting Patrick Mahomes in 2018. In 2019, with Mahomes really running the show., Andy got his 1st Super Bowl win. The rest is history. Sean McDermott is 78-43 in Buffalo. That's a 645% winning record. Josh Allen isn't as good as Mahomes. I wish he was ! Mahomes just plays the game at a different level. The day will come when the Bills win a Super Bow with Sean!! 2 1 5 1 1 11 4 2 Quote
zow2 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 He owes last years SB to Spags and playoff Mahomes. And this year so far it’s 75% Spags’ defense. And of course their GM gets credit too for drafting and signing that defense. But Andy is a great coach, good blend of smarts, schemes and personality 5 Quote

Sojourner Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I get a bit tired of people comparing a HC’s winning % against that of a guy who has more losses than he has entire games coached and still has a better %. But who am I? I’m just a peon dimwit. 2 Quote

How long does Josh need to outplay Mahomes for him to be better? We are sitting at a season and a half where Josh has been definitely better 3 Quote

His handling of the clock in the Philly super bowl loss was comical. But he is a lot better now. And he obviously is a great offensive mind. i do think Sean will get there. He too has been getting better over the years. 4 1 Quote
hondo in seattle Posted October 25 Posted October 25 In the years before Mahomes, how strong was his roster? Why would we expect him to win Lombardis pre Mahomes if he didn’t have the league’s best players? Reid, if he was an average coach, should have a .500 record and one ring. He’s significantly outpacing the expectations of probability which suggests he’s a very talented coach. Yep he has Spags and Mahomes but he hired Spags and optimized Mahomes production and therefore deserves credit. 1 1 2 2 Quote
K D Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Who are the 2 best QB's of the past 20 years (and maybe ever)? Who are the 2 best coaches of the past 20 years (and maybe ever)? They go hand in hand. I personally think the QB is more important than the coach but if you don't have a good coaching staff the QB won't be as successful. It's a symbiotic relationship. 3 1 Quote

BillsFan130 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 (edited) People always wanna talk about Andy and Mahomes But The most underrated guy in their dynasty is Spags. Chiefs defence always shows up in the playoffs and he's the main reason this year that they are 6-0 Edited October 25 by BillsFan130 2 3 Quote
TheFunPolice Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Andy Reid was in the top 10 in HC wins all time before Mahomes took a single snap Now he finally has his QB and you see what happens. 2 1 1 Quote
TheFunPolice Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I'll add that the only thing stopping Reid from overtaking Shula for #1 all time would be age/health Quote

He's in an amazing spot. Handful of SB rings he was a huge part of winning, known as one of the best at what he does, can focus on D and not have the pressure and scrutiny of the head man, tons of money in the bank, beloved by fans, and 100% security in his gig. Alternative is HC of a losing team with no QB and having someone else run the D. Quote
Generic_Bills_Fan Posted October 25 Posted October 25 He’s great for sure but some of this like ‘the chiefs never miss on draft picks and every move they make is absolutely genius and Reid can turn any player into an all star’ type stuff goes a bit too far imo 🤣 Quote

Allen is every bit as good as Mahomes. What Allen does not have is a version of himself on defense like Mahomes has in Chris Jones who takes over and makes game changing plays late in the 4th quarter in big playoff games. Also, have you watched Mahomes most of the last year and a half? He has sucked in at least half of those games. Quote
