In this case the face mask happened to the player tackled in the end zone directly resulting in a safety. The rules of engagement for the eye in the sky should be straightforward and simple "If millions of people can immediately and obviously see it was wrong from their couch, then correct it" Edited October 25 by stevewin 6 1 2 Quote

It will be clear and obvious to anyone who knows the rule... The fask mask that wasn't called on the field was a clear and obvious personal foul upon video review. Quote

Would love it if it was grabbed and broken with diamonds scattered and groundskeeper finding some. 2 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted October 25 Posted October 25 The NFL has a cancer. Here is the cure. Meet the official of the future: "Let go of the face mask or there will be... trouble. 15 yard penalty. Your move creep, erm, I mean Mahomes." Quote

How many more times are we going to have this discussion I hated the baseball review process when it was first rolled out for things other than home runs. However, they have streamlined it a great deal and I have to say, it's not obstrusive at all. The minor league batter challenging balls and strikes process is instant. I feel like there should be something that captures a completely obvious game-determining face mask tackle. In the bills/jets game there was some sort of eye in the sky thing correcting calls left and right (haven't noticed it before or since). However, if there is a safety there, and a pinky brushes up against the face mask... I don't need a half hour review with the game on the line. Quote
Billsatlastin2018 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 How ANY Official on the field cannot apologize to the Vikes for that missed call, is beyond me! So egregiously out in the wide open, you literally must consider they are all blind/ on the take! They may not have won, with an overturn, but it doomed the Vikings. Two other factors. How the Rams WR went out of bounds and 40 secs were not taken off the clock, is inexcusable! And that Rams Punter? 🎉✔️👍 Can he kick FGs? Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Don't worry... They will get a make-up call in a big important game.🤣 Quote
metbill Posted October 25 Posted October 25 What's even funnier is on every major sports outlet it is the top story, however if you go to NFL's website, there is no mention of it unless you read one article and these is just a brief mention. Quote

Livinginthepast Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Watched the end just now. Was a pretty entertaining game but that facemask that wasnt called has to be one of the missed calls of the year just like Josh's horsecollar uncalled vs the Eagles last year. But what is the point of an eye in the sky ref if something that isnt immediately reversed? One of the most blatant and dangerous plays in the game and the officials miss that? HOW????? I guess the NFL will say that the eye in the sky cannot call an uncalled penalty but can only reverse a called flag? You need a challenge system 1X a half for coaches on either bad penalty calls or really bad missed calls. CFL does this and it works great. If a coach gets it wrong they lose a TO. If they have no TOs then they cannot challenge. Quote
