Genius move by LaFleur. Now if things go south for the Packers, he can put the blame Saleh and fire him and say Saleh is clearly a problem. LOL

Wish I could get paid to just watch football and comment about what I’m seeing.  All of us TBDers would be rich.

Send a resume to:

FOX Sports

10201 W Pico Blvd.

Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA

Apparently they’re hiring anyone.

He is indirectly helping the Jets by making the Packers pay for part of his salary that they owe him.   He should have really taken Matt's advice and headed to the beach or to Tibet.

Surprised he just didn't take the time off...he is still getting paid...unless there was no offset language in his contract, which means he is getting paid AND getting more money from the Packers. Otherwise he is essentially working for free since he will have his pay reduced from the Jets by whatever the Packers are paying him.

I mean I get it...he has always been great at what he does and for the first time in his life he probably feels like a failure at his job.  Wants to prove he isn't and get the bad taste out of his mouth ASAP.

Everybody in NYC wanted him fired

Nice job

And that’s the only reason it happened…

They didn’t consult him first.

Why didn't McDermott make the move?  Let Saleh criticise Brady's game plan every thursday to at least preparing the offense on the possible curve balls opposing defense may throw at you.

Maybe McDermott believes he can do that job. Ok. Hire the next Offensive HC fired who has relavant 2024 season knowledge.

I give Saleh credit though. I don't believe he's being paid handsomely for his new gig, probably a lot less than those yapping on NFLN, ESPN. Just want to be involved in the game first hand.

Now he may have motives to get his foot in for the next gig, maybe a DC job, and this could be viewed as a threat to the Packers' DC. But if you are that insecure, you don't deserve to be in that position anyway.

The Bills definitely should’ve offered some type of roll like this. McDermott still could’ve kept his defense. Having a great mind on the team who’s familiar w/ the AFCE (and AFC as a whole) could only benefit them. The Jets definitely screwed up majorly. Saleh will have success wherever he goes

I made a thread the day Saleh got canned about Bills grabbing him for some role and got absolutely flamed for it😂

As someone pointed out upthread, Saleh and LaFleur are long time friends.  They were housemates when they were assistant coaches at Central Michigan and LeFleur was the best man at Saleh's wedding.   This is just a guy with some unexpected time on his hands helping out a friend and spending some time together.  I highly doubt he would join McDermott (or any other team except the 49ers) to do the same thing.

Also, there is certainly no indication from the Jets offense the last few years that Saleh is any good at advising offenses on how to prepare for opposing defenses. I can just imagine the reaction of this board if McDermott hired Saleh to advise the Bills' offense.

Actually loved the take that these two guys know what’s it’s like to deal with a complete idiot like Rogers and so LaFlower was like “dude I know what’s it’s like. Come on over”.
