Find quality players on teams already giving up on this year and looking for picks to rebuild.

Find quality players at need positions in the final year of their rookie contracts, making a salary of less than $2 million a year. Since the season is almost half over, they would cost less than $1 million.

Consider them short-term, low-risk rentals.

Buffalo has plenty of picks at round 3 or higher next year. Don’t give up round one or two picks.

Make sure they were drafted in the earlier rounds and would give Buffalo high-comp picks if they refuse Buffalo’s offer going forward.

If they work out, Buffalo can make them a competitive offer going forward; if not, move on.

Buffalo gets the first shot at making them an offer if they work out.

Purge current players who make big money and hurt the cap if they do not return performance relative to cost. But don’t take huge future cap hits. Have plenty of cap in 26 available for free agents.

Use their higher picks next year to acquire promising talent at needed positions. They will try to remain as competitive as possible with limited but high picks.

Get a damn good kicking prospect in the draft, they don’t require high picks.

Allen’s window is rapidly closing.

In 26, use the comp picks to load up on talent for one major drive for the Superbowl while Allen is still in his prime.

Go for the Superbowl this year with the traded talent and go all out in 26.

Who are your trade targets and who gets cut to make room? Who gets restructured for cap space? This kind of stuff is easy to write but herculean to accomplish by the deadline. If Beane pulls off even one other move I'd be amazed.

The OP was so confusing. Did the OP say 2026? So now we don't care about this year or next and we are planning for cap space in two years???

The AFC is wide open now. If the Jags want to trade Josh Allen for a number 1 this year you make that deal. That pick will be no higher than 30th next year. You are not getting a great pass rusher at 30 next year. If you can figure out the money you should mortgage whatever you can to win this year.

Cooper gives them a legitimate offense. If you can upgrade safety or edge rusher in the next week or two you have to make that move.

I think we need a strong run stuffing DT  shouldn't cost alot in terms of draft capital or cap hit. Someone who can sub in on run down and slow some of the bleeding in the run game.

Or take it a step further and make a big splash and get a DT that can get pressure on the QB on top of the run stuffing. That's how you beat KC.

I’m all on taking swings on talent, particularly for draft picks.

draft picks are sooooo overrated.

There aren't going to be any more trades.

We'll see after this Sunday. How well they play against Seattle run game with their full complement of defenders on the D line. I'm still in on trying to acquire Jeffrey Simmons. IMO, he'll be the Chris Jones of the Bills come playoff time

Hello Demarcus Lawrence.  (Option that won’t break the bank).
