Will they bench Dorian Williams?

When?  When is Milano miraculously coming back from a biceps tendon injury, then not playing meaningful football for at least 15 months, going to make some great impact.

Fans need to come back to reality.

I've been saying this for awhile now.

Milano has missed a lot of playing time, and he will have to get up to game speed. That's going to take time.

He could very well replace Williams, that's understandable. I just don't think it will be instantaneous.

Yes if Milano is back at full strength and playing at close to his usual All-Pro level while Bernard is also playing at an All-Pro level, they will bench Dorian Williams. Given that I don't think that situation is likely, I think Williams will be on the field a lot in January. But if it does happen, man we are looking good.

They tried 4-3 in that game but with Spector and Morrow. It was a disaster.

I do think a 4-3 of Milano, Williams, and Bernard would be a nice wrinkle to try.

Oh I agree absolutely. Only want that 43 with Bernard, Williams and Milano

It’s very difficult to  imagine Coach McD benching a guy who has come to work every day for a guy who has been unable to play. It’s not as if Milano just missed two games. It wouldn’t be right, and likely wouldn’t be viewed positively inside the locker room. I see them working him back slowly. As others pointed out, he has to work his way back to playing shape mentally and physically after being out for nearly two seasons. We will need a boost in January. Hopefully he will provide it.

I agree that is the only time it is worth trying.... but it still takes arguably your best defender in Taron off the field.

For the life of me I cannot fathom why I keep seeing multiple people want to do this.

I never said to take Taron off. I said to take Hamlin off the field and go with one deep safety

If Milano is healthy and playing well enough in practice to be slotted into his starting spot, it will not be a problem in the locker room. You're talking about Matt Milano here...

So how are you lining up?

one safety, two DL, a few creative ideas.

Epenessa on the edge protecting the Nickel SS with Milano there, too.

Bernard on the weakside with Rosseau or whomever.

The single high safety would be, unfortunately, be our weakest link - which is our weakest link regardless.

We have to dare the Ravens and teams like them to go over top of us. It'd happen but bending and not breaking is the only shot that this system would be feasible.

First we gotta hope Milano can even return at 90%. That's not a guarantee.  Then we gotta hope Bernard doesn't keep getting dinged up. We will need Dorian probably more than we think. If Matt & Terrell are miraculously 100%, then we rotate Dorian sporadically. Good problem to have. Once we drop down below Williams, are LB tier really takes a hit.  Hopefully this January it's not a Klein type hit?

Sunday I asked a few times

Who is 42 and what is he doing ?

Not sure about his recognition sometimes.

 Hopeful

But yea. Still better plan on drafting another imo.

another Bernard surprise perhaps

He does much better with Benard setting the table for him.   Big motions and ball fakes move him.  Mind you this affects all linebakers to some degree.  More playing time will help with that.  See ball get ball big he is very good.  Doen’t miss too many tackles.
