nemhoff Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 They just can't seem to put together a full game. Defense looks terrible, then looks better. Offense the same thing. And what is going on with Chris Bell? Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Don’t even know where to start with that Maryland loss…. Quote
Bray Wyatt Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I am starting to think Red is a good recruiter but not a good coach. 1 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I hate to say this, but I haven’t even bothered finishing watching some of these games. I didn’t even bother watching the ND game at all. I just hate the way this team plays. It’s college AAU. I am getting close to being done with college bball. 1 Quote

Johnny Hammersticks Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 I’m starting to think that there is no way Autry is the coach next season. This team is not improving…particularly on defense. I can’t take it anymore. 1 Quote
The Poojer Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I'm not ready to give up on him yet. He's earned at least another season. I hope it's not just me being a total homer, but i think the dude can coach, he just doesn't have the cohesive pieces at this moment. we'll see On 1/25/2025 at 2:41 PM, Johnny Hammersticks said: I’m starting to think that there is no way Autry is the coach next season. It seems like they have some really great talent this year. Just can’t play D; O is very stagnant; and too many turnovers and bad mistakes. Rotations have been a mess, but that may be due to the injuries. I do think they have to give Red though a few years before they pull the plug. Maybe he can grow into it. Also, would love to see him have a really great defensive specialist coach on that staff. Quote

There are things I think should be evident in a team that is well coached. Effort, rebounding, and turnovers. Those are all things indicative of coaching at a basic level, which are reflective of getting the people to buy in. He hasnt shown that so far, I am not sure how much longer we should let him try. It appears he is still thinking like an assistant coach and not the main guy imo 2 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted Sunday at 09:55 PM Posted Sunday at 09:55 PM I watched the Cal game and they actually looked good. Maybe they are turning the corner a little. Quote

It was okay, but cal can’t really shoot. I still don’t understand how their man is so bad. They are always confused on whether to switch on screens. They need to just switch on all ball screens, and let the chips fall where they may. Right now, it’s like mass confusion. Quote

Hustle, defense, the basics should be evident. I would go even further to say that at times Red looks completely lost during a game. And I continue to be baffled at Chris Bell, what the hell happened to that guy? 1 Quote

Obviously Syracuse happened and 3 years has gotten him in the dumps You can't explain his shooting woes besides all the life has probably been sucked out of him On paper there's a lot of talented recruits... Like this is not a basketball team devoid of talent Quote
Back2Buff Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I said it many years ago, but Syracuse moving to the ACC was terrible for their basketball program. It was the beginning of the end to the program. First couple years they had the residuals of still recruiting as a Big East player, but now that it's been this many years, you are seeing the impact. ACC is a different type of game than the Big East and the type of player you need to succeed in the ACC are not the type of players Syracuse is getting. 1 Quote

It was a necessary evil and mainly benefitted the football team, IMO. I do miss the old Big East. 😢 Quote
