They may have had a main option then an option B …. Like I think Diggs would have gone to Dallas but my bet is the money didn’t work. So Houston was next. D-Hop chose the team that’s the best fit and just so happens to be the SB favorite. End of debate. Cooper is still a great WR and I’m looking forward to what he can do. 1 Quote

BullBuchanan Posted November 5 Posted November 5 To everyone that has ever met me, I'm the biggest Bills fan they've ever met, yet I come on here and have to play the role of the guy that hates the Bills, because this place is constantly filled with the most outlandish nonsense. At no point in his entire life was Amari Cooper close to the player DeAndre Hopkins is. Yea, he's faster, and he's younger - he's still not better. Maybe some people saw that this evening. Cooper was cheap, so that's a bonus, but his lousy hands have already made an appearance for us, and he's leading the league in drops. If there's one non-negotiable I have for a WR, it's catching the football. That said, Cooper is still the best WR on our roster, and I'm happy to have him, but between him and Coleman, we have two starting outside receivers that can't catch. If you have one WR that has catching issues, maybe you can work around that, now our top two outside guys both do, and that's a problem. Quote

It’s not an issue yet imo. Cooper is a different story. But you’re right that he’s still the best wr in the bunch and this offense will be better for it. Edited November 5 by 90sBills 1 Quote

I don't expect a rookie WR to come in polished - it's extremely rare, if not unheard of. I only consider it an issue for us in the immediate term because we need to rely on him so much this year. Hopefully working on technique will be a big focus for him in the offseason, and he's a monster next year. 3 Quote

Watch an entire career of nfl tape and tell me cooper is better than Hopkins. So it’s not judging just a few weeks. but it really doesn’t matter. We needed wr and we got one. Cooper is the best on our roster and it’s ok if he is not better than Hopkins. Cooper can be good for the bills, not as good as Hopkins, and it still be a good trade to make. Quote

Hopkins had a chance to come here previously and chose to go elsewhere. He wasn’t an option this time as the $$ wasn’t going to fit. Even then, my guess is he’d still have picked the Chiefs. 1 Quote

We aren't exactly known for bringing in free-agent WRs and receiving RBs and turning them into much in the passing game since Diggs or Beasley several seasons ago. Hines, Sherfield, Harty, Samuel, Hollins, MVS (injury notwithstanding) Otherwise, always go for youth once you hit that 30 year-old mark. Not sure that Cooper fits into our ideology very well, we're a short passing and running team now, when it works, and we have a plethora of short yardage receivers. maybe our offensive philosophy changes, we'll see. When it doesn't work is when Allen goes off script and excels. What's interesting is that we preach an "everybody eats" philosophy regarding our passing game, but then operate off of a philsophy where Allen's passing attempts diminish by nearly 20% on the season.
