I live in NC, have a buddy who played at Wake, he was pretty surprised bills picked basham so early.  Apparently had one good year surrounded by lots of talent, senior year was invisible.  Sounds like a big miss to me

They are solid players but the never really developed into the pass rushing threat that the team really wanted.

At the time, it seemed like the bills were obsessed with these d-linemen that could play multiple positions on the line. I have a feeling they loved Boogie for that— could slide inside if needed. They seem to have gone away from that now.

The only play I remember him making was against LAR to open the season.  He caught a batted ball for an INT.  
 

He was a non-factor the rest of the time.  The Bills had to bring in FA’s because he wasn’t giving them anything on the DL.

Jury is still out on some 1st rounders that Beane drafted, with Josh and probably Edmunds as hits, but the 2nd round track record is terrible.

Agree. On the upside there was a bit of skepticism on the brown pick and I think that has worked out. Interestingly they have similar contract extensions but brown is at the more premium spot. We may consider him better value if he continues to maul people and propel this offense like Humphrey does.

 

 Imagine that line (Dawkins, anyone, Humphrey, Torrence, Brown with Kromer).  I’m getting a bit more upset now that I write it like that cause those other 3 were Bills picks (beane didn’t do Dawkins obviously)

Dion Dawkins, Eppy, James Cook, Torrence. 
Not that bad. 

Zay Jones, Cody Ford, Boogie Basham. 
Pretty poor players for us. 
 

Keon and Cole Bishop the other 2nd rounders. Jury is obviously still out on them. 

 

How do you feel about the later rounds/day 3 picks?
Excluding this year, he’s had 30 draft picks in that 4-7 round range. 
Shakir, Benford, Damar, Gabe Davis, Tyler Bass, Taron, Siran Neal and Milano are the hits for this team.

Terrible is cook, Torrence, Epenesa?  It started rough but those three should pull it to below average. 1st rounder Oliver Kincaid Rousseau is solid (are you expecting pro bowl from every 1st rounder?). Elam being your worst 1st rounder (consider these are almost all late firsts too) is not that bad.
