Phenomenal catch for the TD. I was actually shocked he didn't catch the first one at the opposite pylon since he is so strong, but I wouldn't say that about most receivers across the league. Kudos to the defender on that play. To follow that up by stealing the ball from what should have been a PBU was awesome!

Those are the plays he was brought in to make and he is not disappointing.

Love the comparisons, but almost half way thru one season not gonna commit to them. I will say this, based on Keon's production and what he has added to the arsenal of the offense (that we really didnt have before) and where he was picked and who was available at the time... this is a good pick for us here's to hoping he continues to progress to a 60 catch 1000 yard 6 - 8  TD reciever.

I think the 5th year option is valuable if you don't want to extend him, like Edmunds. If you want to extend, it will get done in the 4th year either way.

Keon Coleman is Tee Higgins with athleticism

 

He looks like he can absolutely be a legit WR2 opposite Cooper this year, especially with a strong slot in Shakir. 

 

I'm starting to see WR1 ability in him down the line.  He just has "it".

I get what you are saying, but there is a lot of misguided concern about this 5th year option.  The reality is that Keon was never going to get to that 5th year option unless Keon doesn't prove to be a long term player here they want to pay a bigger 2nd contract to.  Keon is playing with an elite QB, so we will know if he is a guy worthy of a 2nd contract long before we get to that 5th year option.  And if Keon does establish himself as a legit starting WR here long term, Beane would never let him play on his 5th year option where Beane now has to compete with big FA money to resign him after the season where WR money has been a bit stupid in FA.  

 

So even if we had stayed put and took Keon in the first, the 5th year wouldn't have mattered anyway if Keon proves to be a long term piece as Beane would have extended him after year 3 or 4 anyway.

And that was the knock on him coming out, he was much more raw than any prospect expected to go in the early rounds and only had 1 season in his 5 seasons in college where he had any production.  Legette also said once camp opened he wished he had studied the playbook harder too leading up to camp.  Doesn't mean he won't eventually get there, he obviously has a high ceiling.  But for Legette to get there he is going to need to learn and figure out what it means to be a professional and dedicated to his craft.  The fact he mentioned that is a positive sign though for him in that regard.  Then again I say every day I should go to the gym more and still don't 😂

What I am speaking to now is the actual numbers.  His best season as a Bill was in 2022.  He had 48 grabs for 836 yards and 7 TDs.  

 

Coleman may end up being the Number 1 this season when all is said and done, but I believe he was brought in initially to be the Number 2.

 

All that being said, do you think he hits Gabe's '22 mark this season?

 

I kind of think he does easily.  

 

27 receptions, for 440 yards and 4 more TDs?  

 

Would be such a good rookie season for him, but would also love to see him closer to 60.

I also think he was brought in to be a number 2 and that the Bills would take another shot at a WR1 when they had cap space next year. But if Keon can match Gabe's best season in his rookie year, he could make a serious case for number 1 going into next season.

I didn't want Mitchell...or Worthy...or Keon 🫣. Glad our rookie is having the best start. Long may if continue.

 

Also I agree, Mitchell is in a bad spot. We'll see how he does with more Flacco.
