I know Jones had that one "good" year but it's still puzzling to me and many fans why they chose to pay him. I'd like to read the transcripts of their private conversations. Yes, and with nothing redacted! 🙂 1 Quote

They really thought Allen would fall to them and had to pick Rosen just because. Lol. Funny but I feel bad oh well I was distraught when Ben Roethlisberger somehow went 11th and the Bills didn't get him. So I can relate. Like Josh Allen, in a draft without QB depth it doesn't get over-thought and a Roethlisberger goes #1 overall. When there are 3-4 potential franchise guys sometimes the top physical talent gets passed on. 1 2 Quote

Same- we gave up a future 1st and 2nd iirc to draft Losman….but we didn’t make the move up 3 spots to get Big Ben, instead drafting Lee Evans. That was rough and made the drought years more painful than ever while watching him win 2 super bowls 2 Quote

Funny but I feel bad oh well Then they should have no business running a football draft If there is a QB you like so much that you would be distraught at not getting them...you go get him. I don't like to speak in absolutes...but this one is clear. You NEVER assume a QB is going to fall to you. If you like him so does someone else and they will find that trade partner to jump ahead and nab them. 1 Quote

They loved him for the same reasons they liked Josh Allen. Big Arm, strong body that can play in the cold and windy Orchard Park. The Jaguars were the potential partner...unfortunately they were bent upon getting one those Williams WRs....and they were afraid Pittsburgh will take him....They could have still had plenty of WRs... 😞 1 Quote

They of course could've drafted Rodgers with that pick in 2005. SMH. 15 minutes ago, ganesh said: That is changing history. The Bills desperately tried to move above Pittsburgh and take Big Ben. Losing out on big Ben and then simultaneously trading the Aaron Rodgers pick the next year to settle for losman,( a QB everyone knew would bust) was beyond insane. What's more illogical? Why are you willing to give up major assets and future draft capital for jp frickin losman but not big Ben lol. A QB everyone knew was legit. He would've brought buffalo back to Glory and that was a massive demarcation point along with Ralph getting older where we really saw some dark years. Donahoe literally said that they wanted to draft big Ben but he couldn't get a trade done. Absolutely atrocious and it still makes me feel sick. He always should've been a buffalo bill Edited November 28 by Kelly to Allen 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted November 28 Posted November 28 (edited) I was extremely nervous before the 18 draft class as it was being compared to the 04 class. I knew that was such a massive moment Jets screwed it up again and repeated 1983 taking O'Brien over Marino. I'll forever be thankful the jets took Darnold over Allen. Typical jets Edited November 28 by Kelly to Allen 1 Quote

Agree but the owner Mara doesn’t seem to want to be on this coaching carousel… Seems like he has to face the music and find someone else… The other theory is Belichick is in the running… and he hates when coaches get fired midseason. I would imagine Bill is back as a coach next year with all the vacancies about to open up… Jags, Giants, Bears, he should have his pick. Quote

If they miss I can’t see Ben Johnson or Bill wanting that gig. Awesome QB with weapons and a good D not many missing pieces besides a cheap owner. But Bill knows how to work with that. Quote

It would have gave Dallas a 1-10. Instead of a 1-5. He wanted them to have a longer distance to try and close out the game. It’s easier to get 5 yards and end the game, then it would be to get 10 yards and end the game. 2 Quote

They wanted to draft a CB ( Dunta Robinson) and had a deal worked out and agreed to with Bills GM Tom Donahoe. The move up was reported on ESPN as a “done deal”. Atlanta drafted CB DeAngelo Hall at 8 and the Texans got nervous- they canceled the deal and Big Ben went to the Steelers. 2 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted November 29 Posted November 29 I live an hour from MetLife so I get all the jet/giant talk all year round. The giants are the dumbest organization in the nfl. They inexcusably gave Daniel Jones 5 years more than he deserved. In a league where QBs have a quicker hook than ever, I watched an EJ Manuel level loser QB get excuse after excuse made. It’s incredible. Your eyes told you from day 1 that Jones sucked. These fans and the organization just continuously blamed everything else. Dabol had done a terrible job. They stink at every single aspect of football and the players don’t even care. Any other fan base would be begging for a change. These fans actually want Dabol back. It’s hilarious Quote

Thought he could do the same with Jones. Never close to the same prospects. Allen always had that if he cleaned up some stuff look out vibe to him. In college Allen made the best passes you would ever see. Jones was as mechanically sound as you could be but still was underwhelming. Interesting how they will/have spin that Mora forced their hands with Jones. Imo after that playoff run you trade him at the height of his value. Probably get a top 15 pick. Soft draft tag him and then let him walk. Based off hard knocks Mora voiced his displeasure with the Barkley situation. Still Mora let them make the decision. They could have done the same with Jones. Gettleman gets flamed but he left Shoen a better roster than he is leaving the next guy. Poor roster construction. Beane and Mcdermott had conviction to do this job with their QB. Daboll and Schoen had fake conviction. Kinda drought Bills where they hedge their decisions so it couldn't be “their” fault. Quote

Exactly it was actually a smart play. I was thinking at the time if I’m the DT I am just encroaching early but cowboys declined the penalty so it doesn’t matter. Anyone who thinks that was a dumb 12 men penalty is not thinking straight. 1 Quote
