I wish the division was a little better.  There is no competition.  I think we need a little challenge, of which, there is none and doesn't seem like there will be any for the near future.  All three opponents have NO quarterback.  None.  Cakewalk to the AFCE title.

Do Brady and Belichek and/or their fans worry about such nonsense for nearly two decades?  Of course not.

And the Chiefs have won some rings coming out of a weak division - Maybe an easier path to the playoffs isn't such a bad thing (better seeding, rest key players late in season).

Uh..it was EVERY year for the Pats for nearly two decades.

Helps explain their incredible success.  When you have an ultra weak conference to face every year PLUS a franchise QB that rarely got hurt on a home town discount, you end up with multiple

…who expected that?  The Fish are technically only 2.5 games back but the Bills hold the tiebreaker.  They get Tua back next week but they are not a team to be feared  The Jests are a certifiable mess after losing yet again; whatever “boost” Woody Johnson was hoping to gain by firing Saleh has backfired.

It’s always interesting to look at how the season progresses when various teams are pumped up (Fish, Jests) in the offseason and others are “downgraded” (Bills).

After running through an early season gauntlet the path to a 5th consecutive division title looks remarkably clear.  5 home (Fish, Chiefs, 49ers, Pats, Jets) and 5 road (Seattle, Colts, Rams, Detroit, Pats) games left.  They’ll be favored in all but the game at Detroit.

Hell of a job by Beane retooling this roster on the fly, and then seeing what he needed to do to make it even better and taking advantage of a dumpster fire in Cleveland to grab Cooper.

It is a super fun time to be a Bills fan.

Don’t forget, eball, it would set the franchise record at five straight division titles (‘88-‘91 previously) and it would be the first Bills team to win 10 or more games a season for 6 straight seasons.

Should be 3 game lead, not 3.5.  Dolphins are 2.5 games behind us, we have the tie-breaker, so even another 0.5 gain gets them the division lead.

That being said, Tua's return could boost the 'phins, assuming he stays healthy, which is a big if.  The Jets are a bewildering dumpster fire at this point.  The Pats are, well, terrible.  It helps as in, if the Bills don't screw this up (like the 'phins last season), they should be an almost lock to make the playoffs and host at least their first playoff game at bare minimum.  So, it certainly helps.

With JA17 at the helm I thought that the team would be competitive, but would perhaps miss the postseason.  It's always helpful to have "friends" in the AFCE who can't find their own butts.  Plus the Cooper signing it legit great; I think that, barring anything unforeseen, that the team will contend once again.

You’re quite the optimist.

the Bills aren’t winning the SB this year, or anytime soon.

sorry to break the news to you.

you CANNOT play the last two quarters and expect to win.

at least not against mediocre to good teams.

I can be fun.

you can’t play half a game and expect to win.

the Bills always suck, and come out unprepared to start the game, every game.

coaches don’t seem able to make changes / adjustments until the half.

that ***** doesn’t fly against good teams.

You don’t know anything about winning.

I had similar expectations. After a complete overhaul of the defense and losing their top 2 WRs, I thought the Bills would be an 8 or possible 9 win team with a little luck and miss the playoffs with the fins or maybe the Jets taking the division.

I'm happy to say that with 5 wins in the bank and 10 games left to play, it would take a complete meltdown not to exceed 9 wins and the division title.

Just have to keep Josh healthy and it should be a very doable achievement.
