dma0034 Posted October 21 Posted October 21 The reason why is because of strictly last year. Mahomes wasn't great last year and they turned it on in the playoffs. The Chiefs and Mahomes will continue to get the benefit of the doubt. The real question will be: If the Chiefs go undefeated and MAhomes has like 20 TDs and 17 picks will he win it? Sounds crazy but Lamar winning last year makes me think QB wins is super important. Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Look to beat KC, we have to blitz. Jam their WR's at the LOS and blitz. Its what spags does and if we play zone, its over. Quote

Have to eliminate KC from the playoffs or win the Super Bowl before this narrative changes significantly That and a 4th appearance so I love Josh even more, but I’m not going to complain when he has picks when Allen had a lot in the past, and is fine as he always has more TD’s than just about everyone. Why is there no narrative about how he has regressed? Why aren't NFL talking heads criticizing Mahomes' lack of accuracy, or his sub-pedestrian numbers to this point in the season. Oh... Wait... They still have a stat to hang their hats on... Mahomes: 1,235 yards Allen: 1,160 yards So, I guess this year the measuring stick for NFL MVP is passing yards... Cool. Cause he hasnt lost yet this season... rattle off 2 in a row and I am gonna bet they talk about it Quote
Lionel Hutz Posted October 21 Posted October 21 If Mahomes had been drafted by the Browns, Jaguars, Jets, etc. he'd have been labelled a bust years ago. He fell into the perfect situation with Andy Reid and KC. Quote

For what ever reason people are so stubborn and stupid they don’t wanna give Allen the credit he deserves… Ibe been so burnt out on the Mahomes is best blah blah blah… Eye test and stats so far tell a different story… When’s the last time Mahomes ran over a line backer???At the end of the day people are just Jealous cause they don’t have a Josh Allen on there team 1 Quote

So he gets more grace than anyone. Agreed...And its earned grace if we are being fair to Mahomes...its not like he won those SB's in the fashion of someone like Trent Dilfer or something. Dude won it all last year on one leg with a weak group of weapons. While I think Allen deserves to be right there with him, Mahomes has earned his leeway on the field. Now...if you want to know what separates Allen and Mahomes...well to me that is Chris Jones. Mahomes can afford more mistakes than Allen because KC's doesn't rely solely on Mahomes to close out games even though Mahomes almost always delivers when they do need him to close out a game. In Buffalo, how many times has Allen give the D a lead late and we still lost? 1 Quote

They have to think so much when attempting to tackle QBs or hit WRs. The more this stuff happens the more the NFL is going to have to let QBs get hit outside the pocket. I'd go so far as to say they should get rid of the QB slide. Once they are out of the pocket they are running backs. 1 Quote

I'm sure it was intentional, in that the defenders let up (yes, that's on them...but honestly they are terrified to breath on QBs for fear of penalties and/or fines). 1 Quote

They could’ve had 20 Lombardi’s by now. 1 minute ago, uninja said: He fakes a step out of bounds so the defender eases up to avoid a late hit penalty. Which Pat notices and then keeps running. Mahomes just stopped and the defender is passed him to the outside. It’s really that simple. We see Allen do it all the time. Quote

People crying about it look as foolish as the people that said Josh faked a slide against the Steelers on that long TD run in the playoff game. 3 Quote
