The Riddler Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Im in 12 team league with each team getting to keep 3 players. I have clinton portis, tory holt, priest holmes Someone is offering me McGahee for portis + my 2nd rounder....should i take it? remember keeper league.
Kipers Hair Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Yes - Portis is going to have some tough times in DC before they figure this thing out.
jad1 Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 I think that the Gibbs and Portis are a bad fit. I would counter-offer Portis and a 4th or 5th rounder though. A 2nd is too high.

If it was for portis and 4th I'd say do it. I'm a bigger willis fan than most people, but you'd be giving up a proven back and your 2nd pick, banking on someone who only has 1 year of experience under his belt.
drnykterstein Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 wow, well I will say that is a very fair trade offer from that person. I'd tell you to negotiate to a third, but if that person has any sense they'd know that they already gave you a fair offer. so I dont epect to be able to talk them down. since your league is a keeper league, your 2nd is worth less than a draft from scratch. holmes and mcgahee would be a deadly duo (if you can get larry johnson on your team for insurance) that said i'd do it and make sure you pick up the back up running back for priest. you very possibly could end up with the two highest fantasy point scorers at the end of this year. you can rename your team to "torn acl" it'll be great. just my opinion.

Thanks.
Webster Guy Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Yes, make the trade... Portis benefitted from the Denver running scheme but is having problems in Washington. Peter King predicted McGahee would lead the league in rushing. Plus, you have a Bill to root for!
drnykterstein Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Portis benefitted from the Denver running scheme but is having problems in Washington. 364661[/snapback] He had one not amazing season. He still got 1300 yards. I don't think you can count Portis out so easily.

EndZoneCrew Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I say no....when McGahee holds out this year...you will be screwed
