chongli
He will report Monday and will play for the rest of the season. The Jets waived $12 million in accrued fines. A long-term extension is still being worked on by Drew Rosenhaus. Edited Sunday at 02:02 PM by chongli

Whkfc
I thought teams could no longer waive fines per the cba? 3 1
frostbitmic
If the team waives or pays the fines, shouldn't that count against the salary cap ? ... It is like extra pay. 4
Low Positive
It’s Schefter, so all of this is coming from the Rosenhaus. We won’t know how the handled the fines until the team issues a press release. Saxum
NFL needs to approve contracts so I am surprised this is allowed. Hopefully the JEST will lose draft pick for this trickery.
AkwiredTste
This put them in contention for the Lombardi? I find it hard to believe they could ever play as a cohesive unit

Sojourner
So did he wait to return until the jets got better in talent but worse in the record department?

Miyagi-Do Karate
I would love to know how this dumb situation even happened. I have never heard of a holdout where there was a trade like this. Usually the new deal is worked out with the player as basically a condition to the trade. 2

He backed himself into a corner with the holdout before realizing the team had all the leverage. This is his new agent’s attempt to save face. I hardly think Reddick is going to be anymore motivated to play for the Jets than he was the previous year in Philly. There’s no chance he’s in NY next season.
Whkfc
So basically it does hit the Jets cap. Nice to take a hit of a mid level starter cause your pass rusher wants to pout.
