mushypeaches Posted October 18 Posted October 18 I recognize that they are different positions, but it's not hard to think that Williams is already better than Edmunds ever was for this team. At least the guy hits the run gaps aggressively instead of endlessly getting caught in the wash 10 yards downfield Quote

And play calling was timid to start the Ravens game. We didn't pressure at all. And got smacked in the mouth. Don't agree completely. Scheme didn't help, but big gains are often on the LBs and safeties. Good teams have always been able to grind down the field on us. Now they can break big gains occasionally too. 1 1 Quote

I know he was a bit of a liability early on… He was excellent against Jacksonville, poor at Baltimore, better against Houston. 2 1 Quote
Virgil Posted October 18 Posted October 18 I think he's getting better and he made some great solo tackles on Henry. The benefit of Milano's injuries is giving Williams more invaluable experience, which will pay off down the road. 2 1 Quote

BigAl2526 Posted October 18 Posted October 18 He's been solid. No, he doesn't have the instincts and understanding of the nuances of the defense that Milano has developed over the years of his career as a Bill. I'm OK with that. If Milano comes back healthy Buffalo has great depth at the Will spot. If Milano is done, Buffalo is still in decent shape moving forward. They'll just need to develop a new player to back up Williams. Quote

eSJayDee Posted October 18 Posted October 18 I'm no expert, but to me, near the LOS, moving forward, he's good, maybe Milano's equal. Out in space? Leaves something (arguably a lot) to be desired. Quote

Benford on the other hand almost immediately show'd that he was a much better player than Edmunds & his production has been astounding . This season i couldn't wait to see him & Millano on the field at the same time and we did for a very short time but i can't wait for Millano to get back, then add to the mix the way Williams is playing that is just another plus and he is also showing him self to be making a bigger impact than Edmunds & for much less cash . So let the Bears have his big contract & his mediocre play that's all right by me ... Bernard, not Benford. Quote

JoshAllin Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Until they can stop the run game, the LB's back there besides Bernard are garbo Quote

He's drastically improved this year. 6 hours ago, mushypeaches said: I recognize that they are different positions, but it's not hard to think that Williams is already better than Edmunds ever was for this team. If you looked at opponent pass distribution charts, teams threw very very little over the middle against Edmunds. But again, Williams is young and still developing. balln Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I just see backup. He grades out that way. which. Is good. He was drafted as a STer and to be a backup. At least he went from can’t play to- can play as a backup now Quote

He’s been the model of inconsistency and that’s probably the best thing I can say about him at this time. He still guesses wrong too often for my liking, especially on play fakes. 1 Quote
RG Murdock Posted October 19 Posted October 19 How much football has Milano played in the last 24 months? Not much. He hasn't been on a team picture in 2 years. He's just going to come back with 4 games left in the season and pick up where he left off? No way, they'll have bring him in slowly. Milano has never played a full season. The most he's ever played is 13 games. Sorry, he's just way to unreliable. It got to the point that every time a player went down on defense, I thought it was probably Milano. Great player, a difference maker in most games he played, but I'm tired of seeing him is street clothes. Anyone think he's going to become more reliable with age? Hopefully this is his last Bills contract. Williams is looking like a fine replacement. And he actually plays. Quote
