It had to be a cheap option because the eastern part of the state doesn't want to give any money to WNY.  You should see how the media from Albany on south were screaming like stuck pigs when the deal for the new stadium was made, and to this day once in a while someone writes a new column complaining about the new Highmark .

Much smarter plan than the Bills. They will get a much better return out of it.

If it's brown, flush it down

Haslam should have taken that advice years ago!

I couldn’t agree more.  Dome is the only thing that makes sense with WNY weather.

the Haslams said. "With more time to reflect, we have also realized that without a dome, we will not attract the type of large-scale events and year-round activity to justify the magnitude of this public-private partnership.

“The transformational economic opportunities created by a dome far outweigh what a renovated stadium could produce with around ten events per year.”

couldn’t agree more. The reality is no one is building open air stadiums anymore. Total waste of money, not to mention how it negatively impacts game play and the fan experience.

The current site is a nightmare. There is no parking. It's a very bad downtown location. Very difficult to walk to and you are walking over an interstate. Almost nothing around the stadium area.

?  There's no parking right at the stadium, but I disagree it's a difficult walk.  Muni lots on the other side of the highway are great and fun tailgate areas.  That'll be the biggest change.

Earlier this summer the city revealed their plans to revitalize and better utilize the lakefront and it centered on that area behind the stadium for apartments, shopping, parkland.  I couldn't see fitting all this in comfortably with the stadium there and definitely wondered if the stadium would be leaving.

It honestly will overhaul a blighted area in Brookpark and help revitalize Cleveland's lakefront, so it could be good.  Big problem is how it will get paid for and will Haslam screw it up as he's done to the Browns?  Can't wait to see where he puts the Flying J.

Can we switch stadiums? Wouldn't our design be more fitting for the Browns?bills-new-look-stadium-v0-39gaathwn4la1.thumb.jpg.efbacf7428f66788f95e085d8c98b86a.jpg

Before the Golden State Warriors built their new arena in San Francisco, they released a rendering that looked just like a closed-lid toilet.  It was hilarious.  How they couldn’t see it was mind boggling?

The “Oakland” A’s first stadium design release was just a picture of the Oakland Coliseum superimposed on the Tropicana site.  Their latest one looks like a picture of the Sydney Opera House.

I can still hear Howard Cosell doing the Monday Night Football highlights “Oakland Alameda County Stadium.  The venerable (look it up, Thurman) one, Kenny Stabler… “

They have been talking lakefront development for fifty years and have never been able to pull it off.

They were saying it needed over a billion dollars just to renovate the current stadium.

They almost had to move it.

Downtown still has baseball park and basketball arena. The dome in the suburb is a much better idea.
