Same FG% as Bass last year and also missed 3 PATs... So probably not going to be anything more than change for the sake of change, but at least they're trying. Maybe his confidence isn't totally shot like Bass.

His stats don’t make it look any better.  And those  previous stats are for a dome kicker?

Kickers improve, get worse, have bad stretches, have good stretches….

They must know something we don’t cause on the surface it doesn’t improve the Bills at all.

To me it makes the most sense to trade.

Move Bass and some draft capital to a bad team with a good kicker.  That way we move the salary and the rebuilding team gets some draft capital.  Kicker is too important to mess around like this.

I feel like it used to be easier to find a serviceable kicker in a pinch.

We picked up Dan Carpenter off the scrap heap and he went on to have a few good years for us.

Just knowing he is on the PS may get Bass to get "his mind right".

I think that's the only reason for signing a guy this undistinguished.

Ironically, I think a meek guy like Bass would benefit much more mentally from the team assuring him that they won't cut him, so just go out there and let 'er rip without overthinking every kick.

Bass is serviceable but not good enough. When other teams are making 59 yard FGs to beat you need a better option than Bass.

Bigger contracts with guarantees might have something to do with it.

You know what this pick is?

A quintessential WTF Beene pick! Churn the bottom of the roster. Pretend like you are doing something while actually not doing a bleeping thing.Stephen Colbert Slow Clap GIF

They can always upgrade the PS kicker.  As to Bass, they gave him the "assurance" during the off season and up until now.

Meek or not, he has to get it right or he is not long for the team.
