What in there was meant to appeal to a Nikki Haley voter or true independent? Her answer on immigration was insanely bad. Zero substance. She was overly combative (which maybe you find as a Trump-like adversarial positive). She gave the same ultra-specific policy proposals on the economy that affect a super small segment of the voting public. They hard wrapped on foreign policy as her Iran answer was going off the rails. Her only real moments were going in on Trump, repeatedly and passionately, but the person that appeals to is already very likely voting for her. I don't think she was attempting to influence MAGAs which make up a huge percentage of that audience. She succeeded in showing strength and the ability to fight back. She displayed intelligence and quick thinking dispelling the MAGA narrative that she's not intelligent. That helps with the middle voters who likely didn't watch on Fox but saw sound bites.
