I dont have the snap counts for different positions so I cant dispel that.   Just repeating what I've heard Sal say on WGR.

I heard him say that too. I think it’s passing situations

Giants have both available. Not game changers but I'd look there

The problem I see is a lot of the "bad teams" that would want to sell are very limited.

Yes the Giants are bad, and you would think they would be sellers, but Schoen and Daboll are on the hot seat. If they don't turn it around this year they are gone. Why would Schoen trade pieces off of this roster for the next General Manager. Same with the Jets, not that I think they would trade with us and maybe the Jaguars.

You also have some teams that are 50/50 that maybe the records arent good but they think they can get back in if they get a roll like the Dolphins, Cowboys, Rams etc.

To me the sellers are limited. You know you have Cleveland, Jaguars(maybe), Titans, Raiders, Panthers, and Saints.  Thats about it to me. Maybe someone else joins the picture but its a very limited set of teams for sure selling.

Posted this in the post game thread too - My target right now is Sebastian Joseph-Day with Tennessee. Daquan Jones has hit the wall hard which is leading to big chunk plays against us on the ground. That plus Carter's injury means DT is the biggest weakness on the team right now. If anyone has ideas for other possible DT trades, I'm all ears.

I heard from a friend who knows Jones personally that he’s battling a lot of pain this season

Quinton Jefferson would likely be real cheap, but I agree with Sebastian Joseph-Day. His metrics show him playing at a very good level

didn’t we have Day in for a visit during the summer?

I’d give a 1st+ for Dexter Lawrence, but the Giants would need to eat $ and have no reason to make the deal

Za’Darius Smith would be the best realistic player we could acquire. The $ fits.

But, I expect Ravens or Lions get him

Yeah, he is. Him and Ojulari are the only ones I can see.

And like you, the expectation is they probably land elsewhere. Sadly.

Rumors are that Smith will be a Lion tonight or tomorrow.

It would be AMAZING if we could acquire Lawrence but I agree it really wouldn't make any sense from the Giants standpoint

Diana russini said in her what I am hearing article this morning that Patriots Defensive Tackle Davon GodChaux is available.  Apparently SF has had discussions with new england about him.

I wonder if the bills think they need help at 1 tech and if they do would they be willing to move a late pick for one?

he has the size the team needs for a big 1 tech.
