We will not match up on paper with Ravens, Chiefs and Lions this year....couple trades won't do that. We could win all three - but odds against it.

Much rather be healthy

Nobody but you cares about paper matchups.  TB just went into KC with JV WR's and took that KC team to overtime.  The Bills will be fine

Beane hasn’t ever gone “all in”.

And he won’t this year.

Theyre view is sustainable, repeated bites at the apple.

But your sentiment is absurd.  We’re halfway through the year and hold sole possession of the 2 seed.  We are in Josh Allen’s prime.

IMO, we’re a field stretching WR and run stuffing DT away from as complete of a team there is in the league.  Safety would be nice, but we can get by without it, if moves are made elsewhere.

If we stand pat, it essentially comes down to what the health of teams look like entering the postseason.  KC wins the war of attrition every year… perhaps that’s the key to getting to the Super Bowl.. it may just be as simple as being healthier than them for once.

How many defensive regulars did we miss last year in the divisional round?  I have a hard time believing that we're not three points better if Bernard/Milano/White etc. plays.  Completely agree with your point.

I would seriously consider pushing some extra chips in on J Simmons for TN.  He would be an immediate disruptor on the DL.

Would have to get creative but why not assuming TN would consider it. They aren’t going anywhere soon.

For those of you asking to hold out because of the dead cap space, 2025 isn’t the year it all shakes free:

This is important context in terms of making moves.

I keep saying this but the Commanders should 100% trade for Higgins or Tyreek Hill. I see a lot of spending on Defense in the offseason for the Cardinals.

Bills are going to have to rely on the draft for players. They really need some big DT. The two teams that worry me are the Ravens and Lions.... I just don't know how the Bills stop them on Defense.

We have Josh Allen. We can beat anybody on any given day.

Stop thinking about tomorrow.

Win now!!!

There's more than Josh Allen on this team and unfortunately, he doesn't play defense

Von Miller will be cut, Allen will be restructured (possibly given a new contract altogether). Oliver and Dawkins will be restructured. The cap will also go up.  We should have +$40m in cap space next year.

Edit: Also Knox could be a post-6/1 cut and save a nice chunk of cap. He’s Allen’s bestie, but he isn’t really earning his cap hit.

Yeah but a lot of space can be had regarding Von. Both pre and post June 1.

I don’t see him being on the team next season unless he is a monster the rest of the year.

It's crazy how screwed the Browns are.   They really messed up with Watson

I wonder if they will rework Knox’s contract rather than releasing him.

the cap is BS. Allen is due an extension, hell they didn't even move all the money they could have with him this year.  Either Crap or get off the pot my Grandpa used to say. McBeane seem to think their draft moves etc are the end all and they have yet to get to, let alone win, a super bowl. At what point do we make a change?  Is the goal to just be good and waste the best years of easily the most talented QB in the NFL and Bills history, or do what it takes to win one?

I guess it doesn't matter because Terry likes Both Beane and McDermott so nothing will change. It will be Josh that needs to make a decision at some point.

I think that this accounts for the rising cap. I agree that they will have more but in cutting guys like Knox and Von youre creating holes that you need to fill. The point was, there is NO REASON to hold firm with the hopes of spending in the offseason. You’re 3rd in this week’s power ranking. That means the experts have you as the 3rd best team in football. Why would you not flip picks for players when you have holes?

There’s always a handful of restructures…that’s not really an accurate representation of what we’ll have available next year

It does not account for the cap increase. We should have around 30M+ in cap space next year. They should 100% cut Von, he hasn't played up to his contract at all. I agree, I wouldn't cut Knox.

You’re exactly right, I can’t believe he didn’t go out and get Amari Cooper when he could.

There's an old saying in football, "in order to win a championship you need to run and stop the run." Get a DT!! We're okay with our edge players
