Trade Deadline

If the Cardinals lost yesterday, There’s an argument for Budda Baker as safeties are more affordable, but they won amd just traded for an Edge rusher so they are buyers, not sellers.

With Von back, not sure why so many want an expensive Edge guy.  We already traded for a WR.  MilNo should be back for either SF or the Rams.

I don’t know any sellers with a quality safety available to trade.  Beane would want not an over the Hill guy.

Because pass rush wins super bowls.  Without a good one, you aren’t beating KC.  Our pass rush is average.  We lost Smoot.  We lost Carter.  Trading for pass rusher is always a good idea.

I think we may need 2 players on the defensive line today. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was 1 guy and sign Ankou to the 53.

Safety and WR are still needs but you have to upgrade the d line.

I don't expect any Coleman update until after the deadline. You don't want to lose leverage or be perceived as desperate

Think the S talk is overblown, unless it's a depth guy and swap it out for Edwards,  let Cole develop but Rapp and Ham are playing fine imo.

I hear the cries for DT/DE and I agree with everyone but If Coleman is going to miss extended time this year, or worse, and with Cooper not being 100% healthy and not being anywhere close to being acclimated to the offense, I have to think bringing in another WR is a priority today.  Imagine trotting out a trio of Shakir, Hollins, and Samuel.  *Shudder*

Who says Cooper isn't anywhere close? He is already going into his 4th week.

I just don’t feel comfortable with a WR room of Cooper, Coleman, Shakir, Hollins and Samuel.

If we knew they’d be fully healthy soon, ok, maybe… Shakir is great, but Cooper has already missed a game, Coleman could potentially be out for a few weeks and he’s a rookie anyway, Hollins is a fine depth receiver but we keep ending up relying on him and Samuel has given us exactly what Hollywood Brown has given the Chiefs … except he’s out for the season.

If only one move can be made, a DT or pass rusher like Ojulari, probably takes precedent for Beane, but I’m still worried about the WR room.. and seeing Hopkins dominate in KC last night didn’t alleviate my concerns much at all.

Our defense was decimated against KC last postseason, but we also forget we had Trent Sherfield out there giving us no chance on downfield passes in his vicinity.   That can’t happen again.

I'm basing my statement off the rout tree he has run in his limited game time with the Bills this season which has been confirmed on multiple podcasts.  Buffalo's playbook is not simple by any means and he has a long ways to go.  Also, still dealing with a wrist injury.  I don't care if McDermott has upgraded him to 'day to day', he's a wide receiver.  His hands/wrists/arms are the most important part of his craft.  Until he is 100% healthy we will absolutely suffer in the passing game if he and Coleman are both out or both suffering injuries at the same time.

I agree with this 100%.  I was also one of few posters here who said following the Hopkins signing that he would be an immediate game changer for that offense and I was essentially mocked for it.  You are ONLY beating KC in the playoffs if you score 30+ points.  It is what it is.  I'd love to have DE/DT help but if it comes down to trading for one more player, my vote is all in on WR.  What we have now isn't good enough when factoring in current injuries to Cooper and Coleman.

People forget...

This is not the year to go "all in" despite the possibility of a 2 seed. Bills have 60+ mill in dead cap space. That equates to at least 4 quality starters that the Bills just don't have on their roster this year - but will next year. Could they win a SB this year? Maybe if the entire team is healthy. But we don't have any depth...the safeties are average at best and the they still  need a true #1 WR. Bills will not match up on paper vs Ravens, Chiefs and Lions this year...they may win 1-2 in playoffs but can't see running table - Next year though....

His first game was on a short week here...and didn't play this past week (game 3).

I would say he's still acclimating, too.

The Bills have like the 4th least cap space in the NFL next year. This absolutely is a time to push the chips in. The league is there for the taking and the Bills have lots of day 3 picks. Za’Darius Smith & a 7th was just traded for a 5th & 6th. You should certainly be making moves like that if you can fit guys in. You’re 7-2!! Why punt on a year of Josh’s prime, where you are almost assured of hosting (at least) a playoff game?
