JMM
I don't think this is " window dressing " in any sense. I think this is doing your due diligence and being ready to pull the trigger if needed. If you think that Beane will not pull the trigger because of a cap hit, then I suggest you think about what happened in April with a guy named Diggs.

Bills have very little history of elite kicker production for more than 1-2 seasons. there are lies, damn lies, and statistics. Bass is missing wildly in all different ways from all different distances (usually short ones too). If he was just missing long attempts or just missing to the right, I would feel a lot better. These shanks, then pull hooks, then slices, etc. are alarming.

I don't know what the solution is with his ridiculous contract but we're probably stuck with Bass for the remainder of this season and live with his 75%. Cheektowaga Chad
Can the bills even afford to cut bass? I imagine the first step to a new kicker is to sign them to the practice squad and use their call ups before making a full decision or figuring out the cap
NickelCity
He's a dawg. And he's a kicker. Hilarious.

Brand J
Justin Tucker, one of the best kickers in NFL history, finished his college career 83% on FGs and wasn’t invited to the combine or any all star games. He went undrafted in 2012 and has been money for the majority of his career. I don’t know much about this Mevis guy, but we can’t really transfer college FG% to the NFL. Many kickers who were great in college have left much to be desired in the pros. The Dallas kicker, Brandon Aubrey, didn’t even start kicking until 2019. Every case is different, so I say bring this guy in rather than a retread who has already proved himself to be inconsistent.
notpolian
I remember the thic dude at Missouri. He can play. Don't forget that the hash marks are farther apart in college. So actually kicking can be harder there than in the pros (college tees and wider goalposts are long gone too).

I'm K-State fan, and this was definitely one to remember...so he does have a strong leg for sure.

Did anyone give Marrone as much grief about carrying a kickoff specialist as people give McDermott about rostering Taiwan Jones? Always. Rostering a kick off specialist is patently ridiculous.
