Is Tom Brady Part Owner of Raiders a Conflict of Interest?

honestly the whole broadcasting gig seemed like a strange fit, and I predict it's a 1 year experiment and both sides will tear it up and walk away after the Super Bowl

Hoping he is caught violating rules and fired before Superbowl.

He gets less access and can’t do a lot of stuff other announcers do because he’s an owner.

On his honor….. you trust that?  You must believe the ball boy was nicknamed “the deflator” because he was trying to loose weight!

UFL says "what"?

Other than thr UFL putting out a dramatically inferior product, The UFL is not competition on any level with the NFL, you, me and the rest of the world know this, 😁👍

Tom Brady is now a 10% owner of the Raiders. Per Davis they expect he can help them select a QB and train them. Would this be a conflict of interest with him calling games for Fox? (Article below seems to think so). Putting it out there for your consideration.

What's the conflicted interest?

Doubt that commentating is an issue.

Well, true, that league (like all the ones before) is a joke, but Poor competition is still competition.  In no way does the NFL have a monopoly on pro football.

Commentators get access to practices, team facilities, get to talk to players and coaches about strategy etc... This allows commentators incite so they can speak more knowledgeably. owners & people making personnel decisions like the Raiders say Brady will be doing aren't allowed to. The article raised it so I was asking peoples thoughts on that.

Today Joe Marino & others said there were stipulations the NFL had on allowing Brady to be an owner. He is not allowed as a commentator to attend fox production meetings to prevent him talking to players and coaches, he isn't allowed at team facilities prior to the game, to prevent him being there for practices etc. He also I believe they said cant cover any Raiders games. He's apparently the only commentator now with these restrictions. NFL did it to try to get rid of conflicts of interest.

So, he'll say more favorable things about the Raiders while he is calling games? Who cares? That doesn't actually impact anything tangible.

Exactly.. plenty of homers to go around in broadcasting. That goes for every sport.

Tom Brady would never advise QBs to break a cell phone to hide evidence.

He'd tell them to hire a fall guy to take care of stuff like that for them

Truly incredible how someone can be as bitter as you about basically nothing. Deflated football was found.. that Super Bowl, every football was guarded and up to code. What happened? Brady won. Do we kill the Steelers for using steroids in the 70s? Do we rip the 49ers for using illegal substances like “stick um” on their gloves? Montana was quoted as saying once “If you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.” You know who discusses “cheating” and “rigged games”? Losers. Winners do not waste time on stats and semantics. Unfortunately the Bills have been losers for a long time. Let the coping continue I guess.

When the NFL embraced sports gambling, the last shred of it's integrity was surrendered to the alter of the Almighty dollar. Anything for the $$$.

Courts declared it legal so they were going to a piece of the pie as did broadcasting partners but I expected it.

Who polices that exactly tho? The Fox network? The playing teams themselves? The League? Just curious who the crack security team is guarding against Brady’s known rule-bending…probably this guy? 🧐giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952rtsuxg1zupdbqemoqn

you realize announcers spend a good bit of time embedded with the team talking about stuff before the game. They don’t just show up Sunday and spitball.
