Donuts and Doritos Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) Tom Brady is now a 10% owner of the Raiders. Per Davis they expect he can help them select a QB and train them. Would this be a conflict of interest with him calling games for Fox? (Article below seems to think so). Putting it out there for your consideration. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/bell/2024/10/16/tom-brady-las-vegas-raiders-owner/75697265007/ Edited October 16 by Donuts and Doritos 1 1 Quote

MJS Posted October 16 Posted October 16 So, he'll say more favorable things about the Raiders while he is calling games? Who cares? That doesn't actually impact anything tangible. 4 4 5 1 Quote
Not at the table Karlos Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Just now, peterpan said: Give one of the leagues biggest known cheaters back door access to all the teams and media, what could possibly go wrong He gets less access and can’t do a lot of stuff other announcers do because he’s an owner. aristocrat Posted October 16 Posted October 16 He can't go in another teams buildings, practices etc. He can't comment on all sorts of things so it seems the announcing gig is going to be near impossible for him to do. Well, there is some yellow on the field let's move on to the next play here. Also, Richard Seymour bought 1 percent of the team so good on him for taking care of his money 2 1 Quote

I suppose, given it's just commentating... poorly at that... FOX can just not put him and Burkhardt on Raida's games. I mean, inexplicably they are FOX's #1 crew... it's not like they would have been doing Raiders' crapfests anyway. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote
FireChans Posted October 16 Posted October 16 The integrity of sports announcers, who have openly rooted for their gambling interests on air, is now suddenly called into question? 1 3 Quote
Freddie's Dead Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) The Cheats paid Marcia under the table for years, propping up his various businesses like TB12, etc., all sanctioned by the shield. The NFL gonna keep ball washing him like they always have. Conflict of interest? Nothing to see here.... Edited October 16 by Freddie's Dead 2 3 Quote

Don Otreply Posted October 16 Posted October 16 It’s the NFL, a monopoly corporation, they don’t give a hoot about conflicts of interest, anything and everything that wears the NFL logo in any fashion is all part of ONE business, it’s all a great big entertainment sports show, all the advertising hype, all the official talking heads, it’s all the NFL, and they make all the rules, it ain’t rocket science people, and none of it is real life…, 3 Quote

boater Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) Conflict of interest? By the strict definition, yes. But it isn't against any law, it isn't against any NFL rule, it isn't against any Fox policy. So there you have it. It gets filed under "So What" Edited October 16 by boater Quote

paulmm3 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Maybe a little bit, but who cares? Every commentator has teams they seem to like more and less Quote
Yobogoya! Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I’m gonna laugh when he’s drawing plays on the screen mid-game about how to beat the other team’s scheme, and then the Raiders coaches start calling those plays afterwards 😂 1 Quote
