H2o Posted October 15 Posted October 15 https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/can-cam-rising-return-to-utah-in-2025-how-utes-star-qb-could-come-back-with-eighth-year-of-eligibility/ Quote Utah quarterback Cameron Rising is out "indefinitely," coach Kyle Whittingham announced Monday, and the Utes will turn to freshman Isaac Wilson in the interim. While the news is brutal for Rising's immediate future, it does open the door for the veteran to return for an eighth year of college football -- if he wants to, of course. This is crazy. He's gonna be 26 years old playing College football (possibly). Can't blame him if he does, but at some point you think being the "old guy" on campus has to become a bit awkward. 1 Quote

He's making over a quarter million a year in NIL money. Some estimates are half a million. I'm sure he will be ok. 1 Quote
Sweats Posted October 16 Posted October 16 If i was in his position and probably never be drafted (or drafted very high) then sure, take that NIL all day long for as long as you can. 1 1 Quote

I’m sure he won’t let the awkwardness get to him when he has 18, 19, 20 year old co-ed’s throwing themselves at him. Edited October 17 by Beast 2 Quote
paulmm3 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I assume Cam Rising takes an 8th year at Utah if he can. Figuring he wants to make money. He's probably a borderline 7th rounder if he enters the draft this year. He only played 3 games and didn't look great. If he stays at Utah he gets another year of NIL money and a chance to continue his NFL audition. Quote
peterpan Posted October 20 Posted October 20 NCAA has to do something about this. You used to only get 5 years to play 4 and 1 injury year. I’m seeing a lot of 7 year players. Just ridiculous and not at all fair to the younger kids coming in Quote

BillsfaninSB Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I know very little about NIL but is a washed up QB at 27 going to get much money? At some point he has to cut bait a take his chances in the NFL. Another year in college and he gets hurt again or plays poorly, I wonder if he even becomes a UDFA. Quote
Orlando Buffalo Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I have read that Van Wilder was based on Burt Kreischer at FSU. FSU has gone from a joke school to a school ranked top 20 in public schools. Quote
