Bumping this bc Damar was one of my players of the game.

- Sacking Lamar, forcing a fumble, leading to a Von recovery return, and a Bills TD on offense with a short field.

- Shoestring tackling King Henry on his longest run of the game that would have been a 70 yard TD scamper otherwise.

- Leading the Defense in Tackles, including 2 tackles for a loss.

Helluva game from #3

He’s fine at tackling and played aggressive but he is just AWFUL in coverage. He was no where to be found on a lot of big passing plays. Baltimore it worked out but KC it won’t. We need safeties who don’t leave our corners on an island every play. If Rapp can’t go I sure hope Hyde has one more in him alongside Bishop. But I doubt it

He's been fine all year. I don't really understand the frustration with him. We were spolied with two all pros for 7 years. Hamlin has been fine and so has Rapp

But just okay in the play offs usually isn't good enough but they brought it last night . Babich had them in the plan for sure .

I was very impressed with Cole Bishop after Rapp got hurt he seemed to always be around the ball & i think going forward he could possibly take a spot away from a starter given more reps & if Rapp's hip takes a minute to heal he may have to start next week .

He didn't force a fumble. He held onto Lamars leg and Lamar lost the ball when he tried to switch hands. Damar didn't touch the ball in any way. It was a good job to not let Lamar get away though.

He has been doing this all year. It is his one strongpoint - open field tackles.

He was awful in coverage and run support like usual. The long play to Bateman, played horribly by Damar.

He wasn’t awful in run support, IMO. I thought he was a key reason we were able to rally and get Henry down all night.

The long ball to Bateman—yeah, on him.

Watch again. He was taking bad angle on run support all night. Something like 4 of his 8 tackles came 10+ yards downfield on Henry. He was certainly not crashing the line.

I do remember one nice stop he had on Henry at the LOS and then that was it.

On the long pass it looks like the CB was expecting safety help but Hamlin didn’t drop back far enough

Romo mentioned exactly that, Douglas thought he had safety help coming from behind the receiver.

You're right. I shouldnt speak based on memory as it is faulty at times.

It was their other RB - Justice Hill - who Hamlin tackled 10+ yards downfield the other 2 times.

He made some plays.  Also seemed to get lost on the Bateman pass.

He just does not look good enough physically to play safety to my liking.  It seems to burn them at times...  but I do think he is very smart and dedicated which is value that always doesn't come across to the viewer.

The very first time I saw Damar on an NFL field, I felt like one of my sandlot buddies (via a time machine from 40 years ago), just got a chance to play for the Bills.  In other words, he looked like he didn't belong out there.  And when he was listed as a starter this preseason, I didn't believe it.  I thought he was just a placeholder until they named Edwards or Bishop as the actual starter.

But I give Damar credit.  He's done reasonably well.  It hasn't been forget-Hyde-and-Poyer greatness, but he's certainly exceeded my expectations.

Was just watching the ALL-22 and I didn't realize during the game that Mark Andrews was Hamlins guy.

Hamlin should be sending Andrews a gift card to Hawaii for dropping that ball.

The pick made it worse, but Hamlin lost that foot race as soon as the ball was snapped.

You're thinking too literally. You can have a 'Forced Fumble' on the stat sheet by your tackle causing the player to fumble the Football.

That's what happened on that play and Damar is credited for a Forced Fumble on the stat sheet.
