Send me some links of DB tackling Teach/Drill Tape. Would love to be proven wrong. My source is Kerry Coombs. His drill tape is in my collection in my office. Lemme know.

If the guys playing on Sundays don’t know how to tackle, where are the players who do? My goodness. What a take.

Dude,

it’s simple.

wrap them up.

At the highest levels the DBs are taught how to properly tackle using their bodies to go through the ball carrier so they don’t blow out their shoulders trying to wrap up bigger players. They teach it and drill it. Believe me or don’t. Most high schools and lower levels won’t teach it because most players are similar sizes. Coombs, while the DB coach at Ohio State, told all us “They’re going to tackle with their bodies so they don’t get hurt. So we teach them how to do it properly.” And then went on to show us the tape and talk us through the drills.

Always love watching Damar on the field. So glad he's a starter this season and I feel like the difference he's made is evident in how he's been helping the team. Looking forward to more good stuff from him!

Hi Damar, we are happy to have you as a member of twobillsdrive and we are all so happy you made a full recovery! Go Bills!

I heard you the first 2 times.

All 3 times you posted are equally dumb.

Whether I played football or not is irrelevant to me thinking that tackling is not a lost art.  It happens hundreds of times every Sunday and most players are pretty good at it.

Bumping this bc Damar was one of my players of the game.

- Sacking Lamar, forcing a fumble, leading to a Von recovery return, and a Bills TD on offense with a short field.

- Shoestring tackling King Henry on his longest run of the game that would have been a 70 yard TD scamper otherwise.

- Leading the Defense in Tackles, including 2 tackles for a loss.

Helluva game from #3

Minus the TD catch by Bateman

I think it's time for people to stop treating Damar like he's just lucky to be here, and recognize that he is actually a legit starter and a really good player.

Damar is terrible in coverage.  He just watches until it's time to make a tackle.  But he had two monster plays last night so kudos to him.  They probably lose without his play on Lamar and his TD saving tackle on Henry

I agree Hamlin is not a great starting safety, but very glad that the Bills had him to start this year as they would likely not be in this position without him.  I think he will be a high quality back up for at least a few years now with the Bills, something I did not think would happen before this season.

The Bills may have lost the game yesterday without him.  That sack on Jackson and fumble, returned by Miller, were one of the key moments in the game.

Ditto for his tackle on Henry in what was likely Henry's best opportunity for a huge gain, with a head of steam and no one in front of him. It would have demoralized the Bills a little and changed the mindset of the Ravens.

While he made some big mistakes, he made HUGE plays in a huge game, with Hamlin doing the unexpected, again.

It really was a great game by Damar.  I was hoping we’d go 4-3 base d and put Taron in his spot.  Good thing they didn’t.

Well done Damar!

Yesterday, it was like Hamlin was actually playing to be proactive and not reactive........that creates a huge difference in coverage.

Agree— played with much more aggressiveness. Even on those run stuffs, he got his nose in there. I also saw him getting chippy with Hill.

He didn't force a fumble. He held onto Lamars leg and Lamar lost the ball when he tried to switch hands. Damar didn't touch the ball in any way. It was a good job to not let Lamar get away though.

He has been doing this all year. It is his one strongpoint - open field tackles.

He was awful in coverage and run support like usual. The long play to Bateman, played horribly by Damar.
