Yea I don’t really know how to interpret these analytics. Getting out of control. How about just the eye test. Allen is great. Our WR stink.

That’s pretty much what the graphic shows. He throws to his first read less than anyone in the league. He’s great in the rare occurrences that it is open.

We paid a 3rd rounder for 11-14 game WR1 rental. That is a legit “cost” for very short term rental.

We paid more in draft capital because the actual $ he is being paid by us is so low.  What other legitimate WR1 or WR2 could we have gotten for less than $1m?

There is no compensatory picks if Cooper signs elsewhere due to void years on his contract. Per WGR this morning

This is only the case if they are void option years. Automatic void years (which I think Cooper's are but I'm not certain) still count.

My goodness were the Bills in bad shape here prior to this:

Great example of the data available to the average fan now on outcome efficiency to confirm or deny opinions is amazing.

Hopefully, this contributes to knocking down the idea Josh is the main cause for their issues.  If anything, his performance has improved, but that he cannot hold up inferior talent to the degree people unreasonably thought he should.

Biggest question now is when he’ll pass McDs playbook exam

What can he give us on teams? Can he cover kicks. Might need to dress Baylon Spector instead

This is what might get McDermott fired.  Small thinking.  Instead of welcoming Cooper he's lecturing about how he's just a small cog in the machine.  That's what is first on his mind.  Coop's been fine as a cog in Cleveland, nothing to indicate it would be a problem here.

Some cogs are bigger than others, McDermott.   And that's ok, it's part of every team's dynamics at every age.  Players accept that. You need to fit the right cogs, not obsess over having them equal.

Don’t you think he should name names of players who suck?  That’s what a real man would do.  Why try to bolster the confidence of the rest of your roster when you have such an opportunity to trash them in public?

Lol, please don’t be so simple. Throwing to your 1st read, less frequently THAN EVERY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE, is a sign of that read not being open. Whether you want to blame the QB (maybe 5%), play calling (25%) or trash pass catchers (70%), that’s a problem.

What do Mahomes, Allen, Lamar and Herbert have in common this year? They have bottom 7 pass catching rooms. Unsurprisingly, they’re forced off their 1st reads.

I’m not sure you’re interpreting this correctly. Your ‘first read’ is not synonymous with your ‘best read’. It’s just the first guy, generally with the shortest route, that should come open. Every legitimate offense is designed with receivers coming open at different levels and on different sides of the field; which allows the QB to scan across the field, left to right for example, as play extends. Just because the first, short route, isn’t the one chosen doesn’t mean that the WR is bad. (Although the jury has pretty much conceded that the Bills are clearly lacking there.)

Hopefully, OC Brady and QB Allen will have some say on how much and when Cooper is used on Sunday. For starters, I can think of some Red Zone opportunities that could play out with both Coleman and Cooper where Allen just puts the ball out there to the open guy and he just goes up to get it.

2 days. Have the rest of the WR’s run laps while Allen throws the heat to Cooper all practice. LETS GO 😎

Or have the other WRs play Sarcastaball

I think you’ll be proven correct. Coopers skill set allows us to plug him in on one side and bunch the rest of the receivers on the other. A simple use of a WR who is great on the sideline and great breaking in, a 1 on 1 threat to even top corners . The D has to decide whether to commit a second DB to Coopers side and Allen gets to work the better side of that decision. That play already exists in our playbook, Cooper has thrived on it over his career, and he can own the nomenclature in a couple days practice with us based on his history.

Excellent point. Amari demands another DB at least eyeing him every play -if not full double coverage. We simply don’t have this metric with the cast of characters we’ve had to play with. Him alone on one side and a Bunch on the other will always have somebody ‘eating’.

I still don't feel confident that this teams coaches won't still roll out Coleman Hollins and Samuel on 3rd and longs. The inability to understand that you need  to use your best playmakers at critical times in the game baffles me.

He should be playing a lot just to give the defence something slightly challenging to think about. Even if he rarely gets the ball

With Ken Dorsey in Cleveland, does that mean Cooper is coming from a similar  offensive system?

Good question! Hopefully there's a enough commonality of language to make the transition easier.

“First and foremost we believe in the receivers that we already have in the room," head coach Sean McDermott said. "We'll see when Amari gets here and how we can get him up to speed and get him integrated into what we do and how we do things. It's never about one guy. We're thankful to have him, but it's never about just one guy. It's about the team, so we're anxious to get him on board here and get rolling."

Good ole McPetty. Five snaps in Week 10 incoming.

Amari will run circles around every receiver in our current group.

Who is McDermott kidding?

Need parenting advice. Came home from work yesterday and walked through the door saying "COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPP". My 3 year old and 5 year old didn't join in or even acknowledge it. How should I handle?
