agilen Posted October 30 Posted October 30 So… Bass was fine on Sunday. He’s not great, but 80% and we aren’t making 4th down decisions because of him yet… Quote

Hasn’t attempted a kick over 40 in 3 weeks. Hopefully he makes it when called on. Quote

Hopefully he makes it when called on. It’s the look of it, that bothers me. There appears to always be a little twist to the thing, amplified over distance, where the kick rarely goes dead center. This must be Bass, not any other mechanics involved in others involved in the kick. Troubling and not in keeping from the highly accurate 55 yard + kickers! Quote
NickelCity Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Hope they add another kicker to the practice squad. Pressure/competition certainly seem to help him these past two weeks... Quote

SoonerBillsFan Posted October 31 Posted October 31 They are determined to die on the Bass hill no matter what. Quote

Nephilim17 Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) It's a money thing. Keeping him. I'm still not totally confident Bass will be making kicks over 50 yards in clutch time, like many good kickers do. And the way championship-calibre teams need. What's the longest kick he's made in the last few weeks, maybe 42 yards or something? Edited October 31 by Nephilim17 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Oh man I really liked Cain. I hope he gets called up he had juice when he played in pre season. I think he’d fit in great with our WR group. I’m happy he is back. Quote

We are already deep in dead cap hit. He is kicking, it seems with more confidence though. Quote
Bills aPHILLYate Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I've had less anxiety about Bass lately but another miss could derail him completely and we won't know what the circumstances will be when he misses his next important kick. I personally have been intrigued by the Rodrigo Blankenship campaign that he has put together on social media. I would hope that we bring him in for a tryout if Bass gets the yips again. I'm also not opposed to signing him to the PS now just for a contingency plan. Quote

He was quoted as saying he treats a 30-yard kick just like a 50-yard kick so I think this bodes well for the rest of the season. Quote
machine gun kelly Posted October 31 Posted October 31 The quick question is, ok who? There is never another answer. That’s why it’s not a good idea. Keep bringing in in numbers PS squad guys and keep trying them out. They have to demonstrate they can kick in Buffalo weather. They are not doing it, but they Arent happy with the intermittent play. Don’t you think Beane would’ve made a trade with a bad team, if one was possible. Those losing teams coaches are trying to save their jobs and losing teams with good kickers rely on their kickers to not embarrass the heck out of them. Quote
