He was quoted as saying he treats a 30-yard kick just like a 50-yard kick so I think this bodes well for the rest of the season. it’s tough for me to judge Bass since basically myself and my entire family go into the next room during all his kicks. I can’t handle the stress. 5 Quote

From what I read it sounded like the guy they just cut was not better than Bass. Between the cost of cutting him and not likely finding anyone better, doubtful they will do anything unless things really get worse. But is there anyone to sign that promises to be better? Quote

Maybe they can make a trade for Dustin Hopkins. It would be a full circle moment, and the Browns don't need him. The problem is the cap hit cutting Bass and taking on Hopkins 5M+ AAV salary... unless there's a way of adding draft capital to the deal in exchange for Cleveland swapping kickers, in which case it's about a million per year difference in contracts. Someone with an understanding of the cap and more time to sort out the contract details may have a better idea if it's actually plausible. 1 1 Quote

A good guess. Could also be that he gave up feeling guilty and got pissed off, not necessarily at the team's bringing in another kicker but at the universe in general. In my experience, a "screw it" attitude can straighten out a lot of psychological hang ups. Quote

That scenario isn’t worth anyone’s time to sort out. 🤣 1 Quote

I'll give them a 4th if they're willing to swap kickers and include ZaDarius Smith? Quote
st pete gogolak Posted October 31 Posted October 31 This isn’t really serious but if you’re going to go after a kicker why not go for the guy who kicks 60 yarders like they are extra points - Brandon Autry. Say Cowboys drop another game before the deadline. What could entice them to actually deal an All-Pro kicker? Bass and a third? Can’t go higher than that. Lower I can’t see them very interested. I know he was injured for us a bit, but I think most here thought he would bust out. goes to show you that it takes a few years and change of scenery for a lot of kickers to stick. Quote

PauleeeWalnuts Posted November 3 Posted November 3 So they release his competition from the PS and Bass is being Bass again. Quote
SmokinES3 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 It was, honestly, a bad hold... he's been good recently. Quote

TwistofFate Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I'm sick of so many people defending Bass. The guy is horrible anymore. Quote

To be fair he's been up and down. Browns are what his fourth or fifth team? 3 minutes ago, TwistofFate said: I'm sick of so many people defending Bass. The guy is horrible anymore. Who is defending him? If not for his contract he would have been gone weeks ago. Quote
