The title says it all. How do you think this year will turn out? Will they underperform? Super Bowl champs? Where are the Buffalo Bills at this point??

Pretty safe bet. Josh manages to cover up some deficiencies but it’s not enough to make any serious noise in the playoffs.

win the division.   playoff result dependent on roster health relative to their opponents.   if 95+% healthy like the Eagles were 2 yrs ago, they prob make a run, just like the Eagles did.   a single elimination tournament is a complete crapshoot.

Or safety. Or edge rusher.

This is my answer as well. Win the East but early playoff exit. If they win a wildcard game that is probably the maximum potential of this group.

I see a Superbowl win against the 49ers, a parade in Buffalo and a board filled with members saying I TOLD YOU SO.

How come the chiefs were able to win back2back with their mediocre WRs?

Agreed, not even close to competent WR corp. But hey Beane knows what he is doing right?

Because they were better than the Bills currently have and the Chiefs had a great defense.

bc they got a ton of breaks and were healthy relative to their opponents, its really that simple.   at the top of the league, if you have your best players healthy and playing and your opponents less so, plus you get a few breaks go your way, you can come out on top in one isolated single game (regular or post season) then win one more and suddenly in the title game.   winning a division title takes 18 games of effort, winning in a very short tournament can easily mean having all your guys and getting a few breaks more than the other guy

in the pre salary cap days, you could build a dynasty roster and dominate for years, now you just need a top QB, health and a few breaks and health at tournament time and you have a decent shot

the OP is fun, but trying to prognosticate the relative health of tournament teams right now is of course not possible (eg. what if the Lions lose St. Brown and a couple other key starters b4 the tournament?  -- not looking so good for them all of a sudden, right?) .

Look at the game last night, that thing could have easily gone either way right up to the 2 minute warning.

NFL results seem pretty random among the top 7-8 teams with the best QBs during the regular season.  Gets even more random in a single elimination knockout tournament.

Ok my point exactly.  You don’t need elite WRs to win a Super Bowl.  You need to be elite in other areas (defense, coaching, kicking etc)

or pass rush.   Both are required to have a deep run in the playoffs

Probably slip in the playoffs because the AFC East is very weak and get a home playoff game. Squeak past one of the weaker playoff teams in the first round (probably Chargers or Colts - if we play a healthy TJ Watt Steelers, probably lose that game) and then lose on the road to either the Ravens or Chiefs.

Same old thing every year. The playoff appearance and possible win gives Bills ownership the belief that if we run it back, maybe next year "will be the year." And we end up taking another DT or DE in the first round of the draft and some undersized linebackers and corners later on with a running back sprinkled in. Ownership believing Allen is fine throwing to the likes of Mack Hollins and Samuels because hey, playoffs.

Anything less than a Super Bowl appearance and there should be a house cleaning and huge push for a true number one receiver.

Only thing that looks really predictable right now is that the Bills will win the AFC East again.   We're in an incredible position this early in the season to coast to an AFCE title again.  From there, who knows? I don't think we're a complete team, trade for a WR and I think the sky is the limit
