Slump Buster Win

Recommended Posts

Heard some talk about this needing to be a "get right game". With all the penalties, sloppy play and poor kicks...nothing really "got right"

No, this was a classic "slump Buster". Sometimes when in a dry spout, you gotta hit that bar at 2am and look for that 300lb woman with the freshly trimmed facial hair and do what needs to be done to get your mojo back.

That's exactly what this was. Ugly, embarrassing but needed. Tomorrow we wakeup back on the winning side and go onword and upward.

On to the Titans.

Style points are meaningless.

They won:

  • in division
  • against a team which always plays us tough
  • on the road
  • on national tv
  • to break a losing streak
  • against a team very motivated to win after a coaching change

And with the referees and the video review officials in NY doing everything possible to give NY the game.

The oline manhandled a jets defense very close to full strength for a lot of that game that’s gotta be worth something

Mosley comin back on defense and Moses coming back on offense were sneaky huge additions for them

I'm glad we won but there are some very serious fundamental problems with the team that were very much on display in this one. Poor coaching in critical moments, uncreative play calling, complete nothings at the WR position, soft defensive players, and an unreliable kicker.

I don't consider this loss a slump buster or a get right game. I consider it a win that helps us get to the playoffs, while also underlining some pretty serious changes that need to be made if we want to actually progress once we get there. And truthfully I'm not sure if those changes are coming in-season. It is getting hard to ignore that larger changes probably need to be made starting at the top if this team ever wants to reach its ultimate goal.

At the end of the year they don't ask how, only how many.

Win by any means necessary and as Allen says, you only need one more point than the opposition at the end of the game.
