I can’t remember the last time when the Bills defense brought constant pressure to QBs. Having Von Miller on our defense has not worked out so well and potentially could end up being the worst signing in Bills history. Greg Rousseau showed flashes game 1, and has now been non existent. Every year this guy gets hurt early on. But what is constant is that even when he has returned he’s sucked. Same with Ed Oliver. All of this money heavily invested on the defense and we can’t even cause the amount of pressure required to stop QBs dead on their track. This is so sad. Is the problem the personnel or is it the coaches? Again this defense is expensive and so they need to realize that it’s time to pay dividends. If they can’t, trade them and replace them with the offense weapons Josh lacks.

Speaking of offense, I remember when Brady had Edelman. Dude was a life preserver for him. Allen did great when he had Beasely. I think Josh needs a slot guy, outside of a TE, to help him in games.

Except last weekend…the sack fumble that gave the offense the ball at the 15 yard line?

Defense is not the problem.

Someone tell me how I should feel about this post.

Disappointed.  Friday night is always best for a post from an angry wife who logs into her husband’s account wondering where he is and calling him out.

Crazy, but I did that twice. A pattern is emerging.

If the Bills are really thinking about this, they could make an offer for a 28 year old game wrecker of a defensive end on a floundering team that will not win for at least two more years while it does a QBectomy.  I'm talking about Myles Garrett and the Browns of course.  Garrett would give the Bills what they tried to get with Von Miller, and actually did get from Miller for a few games before he wrecked his knee.

Jim Schwartz

Schwartz has always been a good DC.  The only reason he didn't stay with the Bills is that Wrecks Ryan wanted to replace Schwartz's excellent defense with his own, and that turned out to be a disaster.

Would Schwartz return here?  No chance while McDermott is HC.  Just like Ryan, McDermott wants to run the defense his way.  There's no place for a strong innovative DC to take over the defense.

One big problem with the defense the last two games has been how poorly they play at the start of games.  The Bills are on the road playing back to back teams likely to win their divisions and they give up FIVE TD's on their opponents first SIX possessions.  We would be calling our offense elite if they scored 5 TD's on their first 6 possessions over the last two games.

So right off the bat we're in a hole in a hostile environment against very good teams.

The problem is the personnel…

Groot is a solid #2, at best…

Oliver was way overhyped coming out of the draft, and overrated by many bills fans, to this day…

He is NOT a game changer, for being a top 10 pick- more like a solid rotational player who shouldn’t be getting the money he is making…It was a contract that was based on his potential to get better, and to protect Beane’s draft reputation for over drafting him…
