I did that at a bar once. Only once as far as I know. 🤷‍♂️

 

I paid the next day, and no, it was not $850.

They didn't. Someone in the media just got word of the Police Report somehow. They posted a follow up statement on their Facebook further clarifying.

I don’t get why they felt the need to file the Police Report to begin with, versus just contact Cook directly?

I have done this before, not $850 but I did go back and pay it back.  I used to be a bartender and its the right thing to do.

In college it was a bounced check tacked up on the back wall behind the bar. It might have been for about $8.    😂

because they didn’t have his number?

 

they said they talked to bills security and teammates first saying without follow up within a week that they would need to follow up with bpd 

 

it felt like they way overshared 

 

if cook got word and ignored it prior to police - it’s a jerk look. 
 

If the teammate didn’t pass on word or some similar and cook didn’t have any idea the tab was still open - no big deal

It's probably standard practice for an amount that large. Report it at closing so there's a record of it immediately in case the person is really trying to rip them off. To do it later, police would ask why it wasn't reported right away and lawyers can argue it was manufactured after the fact.
